Simmo said he was gonna be aggressive in this year's trade period, hope hes got a few tricks up his sleeve

His most aggressive move this year was dropping Nelson, so the aggression bar is set pretty low if anyone at the club wants to jump over it.

The club wasn't even aggressive enough to delist McGinnity, but luckily he had the fortitude to do it himself.

Where was this said by Simmo though? Don't recall it.

I don't recall him saying that but that doesn't mean he didn't say it. The only thing that was said this off-season that filled me with confidence was when Nizzy said we need a small forward and a stronger midfield. Pity the coach or the recruiters don't come out and say the same thing :(

My point was, that's the standard of rucks you're talking about. The best ruck in the WAFL was a guy that moved on from 3 AFL clubs and is now retired. The next best is probably Angus Graham, ex-Richmond and Adelaide (although nobody remembers him as ex-Adelaide because he didn't get a game in two years).

Darcy Cameron is the most promising of the youngsters but there's no guarantee that (a) he'd be ready for AFL next year or (b) someone else won't grab him before we do.
Surely better ruckmen than Petrie though...

And I am guessing that there will be other options in the SANFL/VFL too (obviosly harder to get to sign than WA based though)

Petrie isn't a ruck mans a-hole. Its baffling we are even entertaining the idea really.

I've only said it 5 times before but i would give both this years and next years first rounders for all 4 of their second rounders this year. With them set to trade omeara and prestia they likely wont even need their second round picks after they secure compensation for them as well. Go into the draft with 5 picks between 20 and 30.
We make out like bandits with that trade though - Picks 21, 22, 24 & 27 (3211 points) for Pick 12 (1268) and a 2017 pick likely (in my opinion) around the same value. We'd have to finish 14th next year, giving them Pick 5, for that to be equal.

However if we throw in our Pick 30 (629 points) it would be more reasonable - that would be balanced by Pick 12 next year, which is about right in terms of our expected finish IMO.

Put a no opposition posts on your threads if you don't want me commenting.
Opposition posters are fine but they're expected to actually contribute something.

So far you've failed to realise that everyone has known about Hogan and Lobb since the sun rose, and then fought with people.

West Coast will approach the trade period and pre-season draft with an “aggressive” mindset as it seeks to compile a better squad for season 2017, according to Adam Simpson.

Ah, **** it.

"Aggressive" is code for trading our picks and prioritising short-term gains.

Don't wanna get all ep on y'all but I'm kind of anticipating another decade of mediocrity here.

We are starting to smell a bit Norf-like

Edit: just realised that was a three-week old tweet. Still, it's late and I needed my melt for the night
