What is it with Lamb?
Is he just a lazy prick, would a few games during the season have wet his appetite for more and maybe got him up and about?
I think hes just a really immature kid. Definitely gets down on himself far too much.

Word is he has a bit of entitlement about him and isn't grown up enough to know his place, it' not all about him and understand what it takes.

May seem a harsh thing to say on a footy forum from a mostly outside POV, but hopefully he grows up a bit over the off season and realises this is what he wants. If not, with his personality, maybe its best for him to go home and be surrounded by his family support network

Changing subject

On talking footy they seemed quite convinced that Collingwood were offering Chris maybe $2m over 4 years which despite its obvious stupidity also means that Fremantle will end up with a 2nd round compo pick which would be pick 22

For Chris ******* Mayne
Buddy was pick 18/19 and in his prime.
Another great system built by the AFL with manipulation in mind.

What crap.
AFL wants the big Melb clubs to do well.
AFL wants the expansion teams to do well.
AFL wants Sydney & Brisbane to do well.
AFL wants the struggling Vic teams to do well.

They want everyone to do well except the WCE, right?
We made more money than any other club last year even after paying our WAFL royalties.
We have a new stadium coming (2nd biggest in AUS) and will soon have state of the art training facilities that would make Eddie blush.
Plus Freo are shit so we don't have any real competition.

We could make the finals for the next 50 years without a flag and the AFL would be fine with that.

If true, I'll be disappointed if yet another WA talent chooses to leave their side and move to Vic instead of home. Surely someone who has never lived in Melb (Pickett, O'Meara) can't claim he wants a trade to Vic for the lifestyle? It's gotta be the sales pitch of Carlton/Hawthorn?

It's also mindboggling how many Vic clubs are managing to convince GC & GWS kids to use the homesickness excuse to request a trade, while none seem to be wanting to come back to WA (except McCarthy who is suffering a genuine mental health issue)?

What gives?
In O'Meare's case think it's the girlfriend (lives in Melbourne). Difficult to argue with the hormones!!;)

So is the Petrie crap still on the cards, wasn't he going to announce something last week?
Said it before and will say it again, the thought of wasting anything at all on him makes me want to puke.

Maybe Simpson, having played with Petrie, will somehow get a little extra out of him for one last season.

The latest from the Sunday Times is that he's believed to have told the club he's open to moving to Perth to continue his career: http://www.perthnow.com.au/sport/af...e/news-story/78b9987bec4b49a0e75794ea0c85a4fd

Article suggests (to me at least) that we'll consider it during the delisted free agent period if we don't manage to bring in a better option.
As an absolute last resort I don't have too much issue.
I assume we'll find someone better though, it won't be hard to.

It's clear to me that we are not going to get the A Grade talent we need through trade . We are getting B graders and role players only .
We are also not getting high enough up the draft to get elite talent .

Melbourne traded up to pick 4 last year with gold coast for future picks .

This year it seems likely that brisbane will bid on Bowes before gold coasts pick 4 so they may be willing to trade it .

What would people think about trying to trade up to pick 4 ?

top 4 looking like
1 and 2 mcgrath / mcluggage
3 and 4 Brodie / SPS .

Make a trade of something like 12 + 30 + future 1st

For 4 + 21 + GC 3rd ( 40ish)

Gets us one elite talent in SPS or brodie (brodie is exactly what we need ) + SPP or Rotham and an extra early 3rd to play with .

I know the thought of not having a first next year sucks but fixing our midfield deficiency now whilst we have our stars is more important imo

There is serious talk that Mitchell will leave the Swans regardless of the result on the weekend. He is probably the only A grader available as most of the others on the market have signalled their intention to not go west. We need to go seriously hard when these opportunities come up but I don't hear anything coming out of the club that we are interested. Getting pretty sick of this conservative crap from out mob.

There isn't anything coming out of the club saying we're not interested, either...

I'd like to work with GC as well.

Assume we finish same spot next year, that'll be a swap of:

12 + 30 + 12
for
4 + 21 + 40

So we improve by 8 places in Rd 1
Improve by 9 places in Rd 2
Improve by 8 places in Rd 3

But next year we lose 18 places (losing first pick)

Mathematically overall we gain 7 places (very simplistically put) over 2 years.

The real kicker, as you say, is we get pick 4, which historically would suggest we'll be able to get a proper A-grade player.
The hope would be that we finish near the top next year to somewhat negate the loss of 1st round pick next year...

NN is a 500k a yr player...
But i gather ALick Vozzo has him on 800k to 1M. Overrated and overhyped.
Overrated, yet we started to get back in form as soon as he returned?? Just because he doesn't get 20+ disposals like cox used to, doesn't mean he isn't valuable. His presence lifts the rest of the team, definitely going to be missed next year

He is massive for our underperforming midfield. Getting these crabs first use is the only thing keep the whole team together.

Give them a break mate, they are just trying to find out how good he will be with the community first, that is the most important thing when choosing a footballer at West Coast...... lol
And then what if he is a hard nut, he will make the rest of the team look bad and we can't have that.
Cmon mate they need some time to do all these things.

Lol I think Simmo has made it pretty clear he doesn't like publicly discussing players and trades when the player/s in question are currently competing in a finals series

I think the biggest issue with that is that it robs the Suns of a lot of points in this year's draft which they'll need to match bids on Bowes and Scheer. No idea what their academy situation is next year but if there isn't a Bowes equivalent coming through then they'd probably rather a similar sort of pick in this year's draft. Maybe trade our 2017 first for one of GWS's picks at 15/16, then give that to Gold Coast?

Points are king for the northern sides and that deal sees them losing about 300 points overall, so I think we'd have to either throw in pick 48 or let them keep 40 to even it up a bit.
