Is Newman considered a campaigner or something? I still can't fathom how Karpany is still on our list and Newman isn't.

I think karpany is highly rated internally, he has very good skill set, just needs to translate it into games. Some players take longer then others, reckon the club are making the right call.

I'm happy for draftee's to let recruiters know if they are not keen to move interstate . There may be many reasons for a kid to not want to move .
Would people rather the draftee say he is happy to go anywhere but really doesn't .
Saves clubs putting in 2 years of development and then getting screwed at the trade table when they leave .
I have a feeling sheed may have said something along those lines as he was massively rated after winning the larke medal for best in the u18 carnival then interest dropped off .
We even traded down knowing we would still land him .
No don't like this at all and it may sound okay when 1 or 2 players are vocal about it but what happens when it becomes the new normal and there's 30 or 40 guys pulling this stunt .

I'm going to the draft tonight. I feel I should be excited about it but I'm worried it's going to be mega boring being there.

Hopefully they sit us in the same room as the recruiters and I can listen in a bit... That would be awesome.
Ah nice. I think under the new format don't all the clubs get their own boxes or something? Nfl style?

Still bullish about Clarke's availability around 27 - 28. Seems like he is a player that is just primed to run on the wider fields of Domain. Also like Thomas Cole, Daniel Rioli and Mason Redman.

Who I don't want is Josh Dunkley. My gut feel is his attitude stinks and would always have the go home factor associated with him. Also Mitch Hibberd, only going off what I've read recently but has he said he doesn't want to come West?

At our mid 30's pick I like James Parsons. Another strong outside runner with good foot skills. Also like thei dea of Brayden Fiorini, David Cunningham and Kieran Lovell. I like Nathan Broad as a smokey as well.

What I don't want is Marcus Adams or another taller defender for example Hartley or McCasker. These guys are already the size required to play AFL straight away or building up to it in McCasker's case, my gut feel is I'm backing in our current crop and that we don't need that right now.

Ideally with out third pick I'd like a tall forward that we can develop. Already a solid size but Matthew Allan from SA or Sam Skinner from VIC would be ideal here. Can trim Allan down with a solid pre season and watch him go about his work in the WAFL, priming him for when JJK retires. If unavailable I like Nick Coughlan and Dylan Smith as talls, Declan Mountford as mid or Hisham Kerbatieh as a genuine small forward - if we don't draft Rioli. WA mids Schoenfield and Clark as outside runners in the mix as well.

What I don't want to see is Sam Menegola drafted here. Not because I don't like him as a player, i enjoy his work and his a bull of a contested player, but more so because he is a player that deserves to be closer to a best 22 than he would be at West Coast. If he was to go earlier 4th round to a team that could use him straight away for example Carlton as a inside mid alongside Cripps that would be far more beneficial for Sam's football. Too good for WAFL level footy

Enjoy Jimmy. Would have loved to have gone myself if it didn't mean travelling that far.

From what I'm led to believe because of the new bidding system clubs will be partitioned away from each other and the public. Not like its been at the GC recently where they sit table by table and the players in the mix to be top 10 - 20 are seated at round tables with there families and loved ones.

Not sure that the draft could have come at a worse time, being right in the middle of exams and all. It's like the footy gods want me to procrastinate.
I'm the same. Spent way to much time trying to be a draft nerd instead of studying for exams.
