Had no problem in the topic being raised in fact had the discussion with my brother aftet the 1st final. My complaint was that our Don Corleone kept on saying the same thing over 10 pages. Got the point on page 1 or 2.
Oh and football is not that important to want to give you or Godfather a Brendan Goddardo_O
I only kept saying the same thing because people kept responding with the same thing instead of reading my previous posts

There is a massive gulf between the swings in good games V bad games as opposed to rocking up and not even getting involved and making an effort.

Playing poorly is very different from showing zero effort.
Some times you can try hard and put in the effort and still play crap, I can accept that.
However if you rock up and don't put in the effort thats inexcusable.

Your not concerned about the apathy verses the production.
Well I am.

So lets agree to disagree.

Why worry excessively ?!

Because thats the difference between winning and losing.
yeah ok the reason I`m not overly concerned is because I trust Simmo and his crew to have Jetta up and rolling and paying team football .
They know what he`s capable of the highs which may be electrifying and the low soft approach which is probably a sign that his focus and intent is missing and I actually think that can be easy to turn around as opposed to bad kicking skills .

I think you are reading a little too much into it. How would you have rated the WC players based on just the NM and Hawks games?

A lot of those very same criticisms could leveled at our players.

I actually like to look at the year as a whole because while it's important to bring it in big games it is also important to bring it in little games that are also worth 4 points. That game against GC almost cost us top two and a home prelim and possibly a GF appearance.

On his H&A performance he was a match for Gaff and Shuey. Very consistent and effective.
But how many Grand finals/ finals have our players played in comparison?

2 days into this trade period, god I hope there's more to come than Jetta for Sinclair before we're done.

Anyone else looking at the grass on the other side of the many fences and thinking its a little greener? Freo bag Bennell and probably Cam Mcarthy, Geelong Dangerfield and Selwood, Richmond, North, Sydney, Bulldogs, targeting big fish. Everyone seems to be bringing in weapons while we're just adding blue collar like depth. Port Adelaide getting Charlie Dixon after landing Ryder last year actually kind of terrify's me, can see them setting the comp on fire next year.

The longer it sits, the more that GF performance rankles with me, makes me feel we over performed massively in 2015 and we aren't as good as we thought we were. With a tougher draw in 2016 and other sides potentially overtaking us in the offseason with superior list improvement, top 4 is looking like it'll be a massive challenge. I trust Simmo to improve us, I still believe our best footy can be very good, but damn it's going to be a tight race next year. A year for real mental grit and toughness, we'll be being hunted. And that GF performance put a lot of blood in the water.

Jetta was what now?

Gaff made AA and jetta was nowhere near it so to say his H&A performance was a match for gaff is a joke

Jetta was pretty disappointing this year and wasn't close to gaff and shuey in 2015
Oh man.

Are we really going on this he made AA so you can't question it crap?

To say he wasn't even close based on H&A performances is just being one eyed.

Must be living under a rock. We are going to be a lot stronger going into next year. Adding Reddon, Jetta, possibly Anderson.
Do you realise that we have the best depth in the comp next year and how competitive it will be for spots.

Masten is going to find it difficult to stay in the team. That's how tight it will be.

McGovern will float forward and back.
It's a list to die for. I couldn't care about a tough draw, bring it on. With a list this strong we should account for every team in the comp next year.

Break it down. backline- EMac, Schofield, Sheppard, Wellingham, Butler, Ellis, Nelson, M Brown, McGovern.

Midfield Priddis Shuey Gaff Reddon Jetta Masten Rosa Hutchings Yeo Sheed Duggan

Forwards- Kennedy Darling Lecras Cripps Hill,Newman, Possibly hopefully Anderson.
We will float McGovern in there and a resting ruck at times aswell.

Rucks Nic Nat Lycett

Essentially we will have no choice but to have a good 6-7 quality AFL ready players playing WAFL.

You tell me what other clubs in the league has that amount of talent and come back to me.

Top 4 is a must with this list.

Tougher draw? Our apparently soft draw saw us play the top side twice and two other top 8 sides twice this year. While it looked soft to start the year, it turned out that it was not soft.

Areas for improvement next year:
  1. McKenzie returns - he was our BnF 12 months ago.
  2. Return of Mckenzie allows Gov flexibility to move forward as needed.
  3. Gov still has a heap of improvement in him. Another pre-season will be huge.
  4. Redden - the games we lost this year our midfield got pushed around. It will be much more difficult for teams to do this with Redden on the inside.
  5. Jetta (assuming we get him) - outside power that we have been lacking.
  6. Darling - a full pre season and support from Gov up forward. He will be huge next year taking the third defender.
  7. Duggan - another pre season and putting more pressure on the best 22, if he is not a walk up start as it is.
  8. Yeo - settles into a role next year, and another pre-season will be good for him.
  9. Sheed - get excited about some more development.
  10. Other trades - Anderson or others not mentioned yet.
  11. Overall improved depth.
There are any number of other players that could improve and offer more, but the above are realistically going to improve our side.

So am I looking at the green grass down Freo way ... No.

Yeah okay. I forgot WC are a champion team with champions in every position.

If you think Jetta wasn't even close to Gaff or Shuey this year during the H&A season it's a waste of time even discussing it with you.
I didn't mention Shuey, I was agreeing with Keys point on Gaff. And frankly it's absurd to suggest Jetta was anywhere near Gaff this season.

Gaff had 738 disposals with an average of 30 touches a game and kicked 11 goals.

Please do tell me how Jetta was close to Gaff this season.:$

I suppose I'll add the more comparable Shuey season.

593 disposals at an average of 24 touches a game and kicked 24 goals.

Not even sure Jetta is close to Shuey on those stats.

Loving the supposed interest in Sinclair

Love the bloke, heart of a lion like Ian Downsborough

But ultimately he isn't a ruckman's arsehole (Just like Downsborough)

With a shortage of rucks around - we could make off like bandits - truly a sellers market.

We were a bee's dick from pulling off a cracking deal on brown, hopefully Brisbane match leuey and that leaves a few clubs desperate for rucks and forced to overpay.

My hope for 2016 is that Nic can ruck greater loads and Gov can provide a chop out in the ruck

Mate you should read what you were quoting? Your mate did compare him to Gaff and Shuey.

Jetta was pretty disappointing this year and wasn't close to gaff and shuey in 2015.
He even went on the say he had a disappointing season. Finals maybe but his H&A was fine.

But kudos to you for looking after your mate.

Its was hinted a few days ago that we may be targeting someone other than the obvious jetta and redden.not sure if Anderson was on the cards at that stage
Who do you guys think is a realistic target that we could be chasing behind the scenes?
I'm hoping for Brenden ah cheers.
Anymore trades will be hard with our lack of picks this year

What? I said I didn't mention Shuey. :drunk:

Again, tell me using the stats I've given you how Jetta is comparable. Frankly you can't because he wasn't.

If Jetta had a disappointing season how can he be compared to one player who had an amazing season and another who had a solid season?

It would have been Anderson. We don't have the picks or players to chase anyone else
