IMO:

Pick + Jetta for Sinclair = Very good
Jetta for Sinclair = Good
Jetta for Sinclair + pick = Below break even
Haven't we already knocked back a straight swap?

Hopefully Vozzo has stuck to his guns and squeezed some extra value.

If he has gotten Jetta plus a pick or a pick upgrade I will take back some of the bad things I have said about him.

Hope we get a pick as well.

Sinclair is contracted and Sydney want him.

Has to have something other a than straight swap. Has to. :|

We've re-signed Mcginnity just so has more value at the trade table. We've then thrown him in with Sinclair to get Jetta + 14.

Totally feasible.

You could never blame Sinclair for leaving.

Here he's on pittance (relatively speaking), and is one strong Lycett pre-season away from an indefinite period in the magoos.

Sydney seem to be doubling or tripling his money in a deal that should last to near the end of his career. I suspect he'll have more guarantees regarding playing time and will still be playing for a very good team.

Lycett having a poor and injury ruined season has probably ended up more than doubling Sinclair's career earnings.

The guy was desperate to play AFL, took a big gamble and it looks to have payed off.

Can't really blame the guy for taking his opportunity.

A year ago he was nobody now he is on 400k and a starting ruck for a flag contender.

McGinnity is the pits, but if we are going to have a red hot crack at the flag then a bloke who understands the system (but poorly executes it) may be of some/little value to us over, say, a kid we recruit in the 3rd round who needs to learn the system and wont play a game anyway. In that instance McGinnity represents the last tether of "depth".

I am glad we are bringing in other first 22 to fatten up the depth but Selwood out Redden in hasnt increased depth head count wise, it has just been an upgrade of quality. Noone else will take Patrick so its in our interests to let him run around in the Magoos and if the worst case happens and we get bulk mid injuries, he understands the game plan and can (maybe) play a role (hopefully).

In a way it sort of has increased depth because Selwood was just unplayable this year. I mean when your having to choose between bringing in a Selwood or a Mcginnity to cover an out its a bit of an empty choice.

Redden and Jetta are both playable. Add a fit Duggan and things are really looking up.

Yea talent wise it has. Head count wise it has not. Should your mildly talented or highly talented mid get injured, you are still down a man on rotations. In this instance Patrick represents the last choice depth who may show an ounce of value in dire circumstances.

Keeping him as insurance when going for a flag is not an outright crazy idea in my mind. If we were rebuilding he would be goneski.

Colledge for Lennon - see what Richmond think. At the moment they may get zero for him if he goes to Carlton in the pre-season draft.
That's almost crazy enough to work. Depends on how they rate Colledge and how tight their list is.

With the resigning of McGinnity our own list space needs to be accounted for as well.

Selwood fit meant there was pressure to include in side at the expense of the likes of Nelson, Newman and hopefully a recovered Waterman in 2016.

I suspect we will have a bigger clean out at the end of next year with the draft depth in 2016 more like that of 2014. So Tunbridge and McSpud for another year on the list makes sense. I would personally like both of these to be delisted and rookied but not holding my breath
