You think it's likely that Freo will be using pick three in the draft? That baby will be used in a trade.
Unless hogan is on the table I doubt they'll be trading pick 3

The only other scenario I can see is if they trade down for one of GWS other 1st round picks as part of a trade for lobb if he decides come home

I don't think GWS need any more low picks as enticing as Pick 3 may be .Unless they want to package up some 1st Rd picks for some elite players at other teams .

SPP's skill are not that bad and have see way worse in the AFL. The confidence he has to burst through packs and bouncing the ball were pretty elite! Fix up that disposal and have him feeding the ball out to better ball winners in Gaff, Shuey, Sheed and Duggan and it could go along way fixing our midfield!

Someone else said we are very into him. I can't see him going before 13 unless he has an amazing combine (inb4 terrible kicking score).

Do they still have plenty of academy kids coming through that they need points for?

I think they have enough 1st Rd picks already which is three 1st Rd picks and two 2nd Rd picks .

There are two possible 1st Rd Top 10 academy kids , the other academy kids are still gettable with the picks they have .

GWS might want pick three for McCarthy and a one of GWS's later first rounders.

Here's the video for anyone interested. He looks pretty exciting, love the way he hits the contest at pace.
Ever since I heard about this guy's attributes I've wanted him in the side. We desperately need that physicality.

However, dat flog haircut - will he pass the Nisbett good boy test?

Anyone know what he's like as a person? I can see us passing if he's a bit of a loose cannon.

Although in saying that, we did draft Newman.

They don't. Their coach has already come out and said a trade for McCarthy is going to happen. He won't be going for a top 10 pick after sitting out a season.
Cameron also said he still held hope that he would stay, GWS have several first rounders, it is certainly possible they'll try to upgrade to the third pick.

Best case scenario for us is that Freo and GWS carry on their shitfight for McCarthy and damage their trading relationship such that if Rory does lobb on the trade table next year the Giants prefer to deal with us

Ok, so about all this Rory Lobb talk. These are the big questions in my mind (apologies if they have already been discussed).

1. GWS don't want him to go and are going to play hardball. What would it take to get him? Which picks/players would we trade?
2. Do we even have enough in our salary cap to go after him? Figures floating around the media are $700K+ per year. We already have Nic Nat on a large salary.
3. When Nic Nat eventually comes back... what would we do with Lobb? The only place he could really go would be the forward line, but that might make us top heavy with a resting ruckman also? Maybe Darling would need to move out and into the midfield?

Edit: it didn't read so well when commented in line

1. Probably more than we are willing to give up. First rounder plus a player or two firsts....don't believe a 32 gamer is worth that even based on potential. Although looking at that Tom Boyd trade..Griffin and pick 6, GWS must be very happy with how that panned out

2. We already have Nic Nat on a large salary. wow 700k..no thanks, we could almost(big big pinch of salt) have fyfe for that or rocky not sure who else we could snare with that money.

3. Would have to move forward or become the Uber utility, not sure if Darling to the midfield will ever happen full time, it just hasn't worked.
