GC want two first rounders if not Omeara can go to the draft , which would mean he could go interstate ie Bisbane of Freo etc but sounds like his knee is not good at all ........pass

Dont want Omeara due to his injuries. He will probably be ok but not elite and I doubt he will come here anyway. Plus the cost.

I wonder if we get Lobb they will pay McInnes out. He has been dropped to the reserves and hasn't come on like we hoped.
What if you ignore cost and imagine flag #4?

Inability to get through reserves is concerning..... risk it and give him a year off, come back with NicNat round 1 2018!

Omeara will go to North Melbourne, so will Swallow probably. Just a hunch as it is the only plausible reason why North would sack four senior players in the way they have.

Too predictable given JOM comes out the day after the roos saying he wants to head to Melbourne.

North but in particular Brad Scott are a despicable club.

Simpson I suggest will be their cross hairs once Scott's contract has expired.

How about 2 or the 4 have played on at least 1 year too long (Spud & Petrie), 1 has slowed significantly, and the other is 38 and they won't be making the finals for the next few years?

People need to remember that both pre lims they have made recently have been from 6th ( when they played a lower placed Essendon week 1 and Geelong week 2, who finished with one of the lowest top 4 percentages I can ever remember) and 8th (beating Richmond, and a injury decimated Sydney).

They weren't as good as people think and Scott needs to make changes to justify a renewal of his contract for 2018.

The 38 year old is also the 25th best performing player in afl at present.

Was surprised to see that. 100% agree this move is also aligned with contract extension

We'd have to give up this years first round draft pick as well as someone like Andrew Gaff.
As good as O'Meara is in theory it's a lot of risk for a small chance of reward. Probably better we sit this one out.

Just have this feeling we will be safe and go for Gallucci
Can you elaborate why you think this way? In discussion with a few other tragics, the feeling is that his profile is not what we require.

Would be keen to get your insights as to why - like visits to family. recruiters closely monitoring, overheard discussion at U18 carnival, etc. Knightmare has him slipping since the carnival when he had him late first round/early second round. A pick in the mid to high 20's would be right but in a classy midfield draft I see better options for our first pick.

I would not be happy with him at our first pick - does not fit the bill.

So Cavka and Ellis definitely gone obviously
Bennell would be done you'd think
Is this the year we finally call curtains on McGinnity?

I think Butler, Hutchings and Hill will get another year although Butler is an outside chance of retiring

Lamb will most likely ask for a trade

Fair chance we will cut McInnes even if contracted

Brown I suspect we will keep unless he looks at his options and asks to go elsewhere as a FA. Compenstion, if any, will be minimal

Lucas and Colledge won't survive as rookies. Snadden will. Tunbridge might.

Waterman depends on how his recovery from glandular fever is going so from outside we have no idea

Brophy and Adamson will both be kept as Cat B rookies

At a minimum we will have 6 senior list and 2 rookies depart. Could be as high as 8 and 4 which is a fairly high turnover (a quarter of the list)
Think we have been waiting for an un-compromised strong draft for a few years now to clean out the cupboard. 4-5 draft picks and an established player or 2 sounds about right.

We have an extra list spot as we have 5 rookies so delist Lucas and collage gives us 1 national draft pick and 1 rookie draft pick .

Ellis , Cavka retire
Bennell , ginners delist
lamb , Emac trade

We will then draft some spud like conca , ballantyne , matera

leaving us with 6 national draft , 1 rookie spot

His girlfriend lives in Melbourne and refuses to move. It's clear he's determining his future home on keeping her happy. If she won't move to the Gold Coast is highly unlikely she's moving to Perth.

Form however is poles apart. Injury wise Harvey is in better condition also. What is it that makes you certain that Harvey is too old to stick in a fwd pocket if he has lost none of his pace?
I don't want either of them anyway so I don't care what their form is like.
I would rather take the gamble on drafting a younger player who may turn into something than rent a 39 year old for a year.

JOM won't cost that much. Given his injury history, a first rounder will be enough. Eade is just looking to increase his value but any club would be crazy to give up so much on someone who may never make it.

I'll start with this Knightmare gets it wrong alot.

Just a gut feel Simmo likes good ball users Gallucci is that.

Eagles seem to go for the good Kids you know good students etc etc

Just has a Eagle selection all over him a Safe bet ...
