That bloody dribble kick though....
"Streaming off half-back with options galore in the centre, Embley looked likely to help put the Eagles further in front.
Yet, the veteran Norm Smith Medallist inxeplicably grubbed it 10m to surprised Magpie Dayne Beams. Beams popped it over to Tyson Goldsack inside 50, who converted in a massive momentum-shifter.
The Magpies, four points down after conceding the first two goals of the final term, regained the lead and the deflated Eagles suddenly lost their faith.
From that moment, eight minutes into the final term, West Coast did not score again."
Just goes to show that for a long time this side has been mentally weak, and has lacked the capacity to stop opposition teams from getting a run on (which i think has been one of our major weaknesses this year; our ability to address shifts in momentum and stop our opponents from capitalising on them, scoreboard wise). We have good leaders in defence and up forward, but we desperately lack leadership in the midfield; the place where momentum shifts can be arrested and games are won. I don't know where that leadership is going to come from, but i hope it does.
