I hope we do, but you're probably right. It'd take Jobe's approval for us to take him and I'm not sure we'd get it.
I think after the shit we went through this yr everyone at Ess should revaluate all our opinions/preconceptions & hopefully have a change of heart & go with the best option at 26.

Don't know whether i'm rationalizing reality or not, but all in all i'm really happy to replace Crameri with Chapman + 26. That pick mitigates the sanctions and looks after our future, while Chapman provides us with a forward who has a half decent chance of performing in the second half of the season (unlike Crameri).

I agree with this. Chapman is an upgrade on Crameri. He's probably only got a couple years left but that's valuable time for your other forwards to develop.

The only risk is his body not being able to hold up.

You should be able to get a decent player with pick 26 too.

That is so dumb and really showing you have no idea how trading works. Yes we got the same deal we could have gotten on day 1, but it would have been truly embarrassing to just accept it rather than trying to get as much as possible. We always knew pick 26 was there, it wasn't at risk of being taken away. They tried to keep him, tried everything to put together a deal that was best for us.

By the sounds of it you want us to be bitches and accept whatever the other clubs offer.
No we didn't. They were offering pick 22 on day 1.

Very disappointed that we couldn't get more.. but obviously after trading 48.. we just couldn't get anything else that would suit..

Thought a 3 way trade with Freo could have been viable but either the club thinks they can do better (Gumby + 26 for 17) or they just thought it was time to get the deal done.

As to the notion we should have just taken this on Day 1.. yeesh..

Unfortunately the Dogs having such an early pick in the PSD on account of them being crap.. really hurt our position.

Oh and I would agree with what others have said about us rolling over on the penalties.. I was as shocked, and disappointed, as many others.. but that is evident in my posting after our capitulation.. however I would state that the club at NO POINT indicated they had cheated, or had allowed cheating, to occur at the club. But we don't need to open new wounds.

If you still believe those charges weren't a trumped up witch hunt.. well then enjoy your Age subscription..

Bulldogs offered their 2nd round pick from start.. we accepted 2nd Round pick at end.

Still think Crameri worth far more than that...

However it looks like we are only drafting 1 player.. and other two picks will be rookie upgrades.. so maybe club figured it wasn't worth fighting for..

I am happy we got Edwards and Aylett for pick 48 rather than using it just to get 42. We got more value for it. Hopefully we can try and us 58 and Jetta to move up in the draft a bit.
