I'd be re-signing Winderlich for more than a year, unless he flags that next year is a good chance to be his last.
Go out on a limb and say that next year may very well be his last.

Could have been anything if his body held up. Some seriously good players came out of that draft (Goddard, Wells, JAarad McVeigh, Mackie, Jay Schulz, Byron Schammer, Minson). He could have been in the top 5 from this draft IF his body held up :(

Agreed.

Our forward line is much the poorer for his absence.

Luke Parker thanks!
resigned unfortunately. Lamb i think could be on the outer up there with Jetta, Rohan, B.Jack occupying those kinds of flank/sub fringe roles, and I think we could offer him permanence in a forward pocket, kid is very clever around the goals.

As far as alternative talent goes, we've got Clothier coming through this year who is a free hit and fits a positional need, yet we probably wont pick him. bizarre.

I'll use the out of contract guys yodellinhank, this would be my summation

OUT OF CONTRACT
Tom Bellchambers (trade into the top 20 - 30)
surely we would not entertain trading belly for anything higher then a pick 19-20? Unless a player is also part of the deal.

When I think of Jed Lamb, I keep thinking of Pat Vezpremi (sp?). Did well with his kicking at draft camp/combine but hasn't really developed into something they had hoped for.

Doubt they are giving up the son of a club legend any time soon.

As for Luke Parker, that just sucks.. I'm not completely sold on the hype of Jed Lamb.
It was a joke. Would prefer McGlynn to Lamb but that's unlikely
No they won't, that would be restraint of trade for players.
So they strip us of draft picks but allow us to trade for draft picks. A bit hypocritical

These are the list changes I'd make (keep in mind its speculative):
Keep: Bellchambers (Unless he's involved in a trade for Pick 1 so we can get Boyd), Hooker, Melksham, O'Brien, Winderlich, Dell'Olio, Hardingham, Crameri.
Trade: Pears, Jetta, Davis, Colyer, Gumbleton, Davey.
Retirements: Hille, Lovett-Murray, Fletcher (Though I hope he stays 1 more year).
Delistings: Hunter, Steinberg.

Trade/Free Agency targets:
Thomas (Adds run & polish)
Longer (A replacement for TBC if he's traded)
Sylvia (I know he's iffy but he's in a crap team)
Watts (Could be useful either up forward or down back if we can harden him up)
Adams (If we could work a trade that would net us him and Pick 1 that didn't cost us too much great)
Martin (Would add a fair bit of X-factor to our MID/FWD lines)
Karnezis (Haven't seen much of him but could be worth a look)
Vardy (Young gun ruckman, has had his share of injuries but can play).
Hanley (Getting better and better with each season he plays, more than useful off a half-back flank).

Draft targets:
Boyd (If we can get hold of pick 1)
Garlett (Appears to have turned a corner in terms of attitude).
Tipungwuti
Sikora
Jydon Neagle (Father-Son)

I realise we probably won't end up with most if any of the guys I've listed as targets but it'd be great to get a few of them wouldn't it! Thoughts?

Karnezis is a decent shout, he's a pacy wingman. Not sure about his skills though which is probably criterion number one.
I was thinking about the criteria I would have when selecting players.

mine would include 1) workrate, 2) skills, 3) decision making would almost be the top 3 IMO

One player I was going to mention (again) was Kyle Martin (Collingwood). A goal kicking half forward cum midfielder. 22 years old on the Pies rookie list, I would trade to get him to Essendon.
