we have two picks under 10 this year an over looked grundy 3 times we ain't tradeing a high pick for a ruck, an belly is not worth pick 10 anyway imo.a 2nd rounder is his value.it's not unlike sam jacobs trade
The matter of the fact is you need bigger bodies not 18 year old bean stalk ruckman. An if your comparing Jacobs to TBC and saying TBC is lesser it's alittle laughable. Jacobs is a good tap ruckman but around the ground he is one diminsional, TBC is only 24 (I think) and has showed he is capable all over and kicking 20+ goals so far.

Trading some guns such as Crameri and maybe Tayte Pears could help them to get back into the first two rounds, but ruckman Bellchambers is said to be off-limits.
you might have to look else where maybe, I hope mumfords or Warnocks body holds up for you's :thumbsu:

What? I meant the book of father/son rules were written without consideration of draft sanctions. I wasn't referring to Essendon in any way at all. Just that it doesn't seem to account for large drops in pick values.
Tom Liberatore was picked with the second live pick after he was bid for, as Mitch Wallis was taken as well. It's not a complicated or unprecedented idea, so stop feeling hard done by. You cheated, we didn't, you got off lighter.

Re: hypothetical of trading Colyer to Gold Coast for their third rounder.

Eagles have a mid third round comp pick (tied to Collingwood's finishing position). Not yet activated. Would this have any value for Essendon? Or would you be looking for picks you can use this year?

Yeah, I was thinking it depended on who would be in the mix for that area... I know they wouldn't take that as it is, but there might be something to it. Dogs would be willing to trade something for those two I would think...

scezza nailed it.

Is an essentially back-up ruckman our highest priority?
Ahhhhh, have you changed your tune? I always thought you were anti trade belch.
So what would you look for? I first round pick to pickup a young gun mid? I feel like a young inside mid is what we're after. Hence the Caddy Quest.

No, I've always thought we need to trade him because there's no definite spot for him, and in two years he's a free agent. It's our last chance to get something for him.

We need to trade for picks IMO and use FA to improve the 2014 team. We can't afford to have a big gap in the list from the 1995 and 1996 classes - we had a 1981-83 gap and that destroyed us.

I agree with you, I also think that Gumbo deserves more time and can pinch hit with Ryder in the Ruck ie Q.Lynch L.Brown. Only gumbo would offer more up forward.
Throw in Daniher, and we're OK.
I love Adams, I would do that trade. Adams and Neagle wouldn't be a bad result

So would we be comfortable losing Hille and TBC in the same year? It would leave Ryder with Gumby and JD to be the back ups.
There are others who we could trade for (Trent West, Jono Griffen?, Daniel Gorringe, Jono Ceglar, Max Gawn) and I'm sure there are many more as well
