With the emergence of Balta and Chol progressing well and both capable of playing forward / ruck I would be very open to trading CCJ for a gun mid if someone came knocking. Crows the best option in this instance.
You think he will surpass Nank as our no 1 that soon?
No Chance i would be trading CCJ , This kid is looking like a Gem and is developing beautifully, He is 2 years away from being a regular in the seniors and taking the role that Balta is currently playing with an eye to being #1 Ruckman in 3-4 years. This kid is a real gem you cannot seriously consider any trade

Fair enough, we seem to have a bit of depth in this area but no mids coming through that look like like being stars of the competition, ala Dusty, Danger etc

We currently have
Higgins , Ross , RCD , Graham with all of them being under 21 years of age as inside mids

Naish , Turner , Bolton as outside mids under 21

The way i see it we need 2 more Gun mids and we have 3 years to get them before Cotchin retires

Isnt he contracted until end of 2021? So if he develops well, we will have him as 2nd ruck for a couple of years. Then if he wants to leave, we will have a couple of very good picks coming our way.
Chol I am not so sure with. could be delisted at the end of this year. imo.

He’s a beauty. Young, Ross and RCD as our inside mids for the next decade would do nicely.

Unless we bomb out this year I think he’ll probably be gone well before our pick however
I might be wrong here but just say if Maurice Rioli Jr is expected to go top ten next year, would it be in our best interest to trade our first this year + next year (both late first round picks that are essentially second round after FA compensation) for a very high pick this year? That means we can get move up the draft this year to pinch someone like Young and won’t have to burn an early pick on Rioli Jr next year. Basically we’d get two highly rated top ten draft picks after only using two early second round picks. Alternatively, we could package up someone like Butler or Short and our first round pick to move up in the draft, then next year pull a Sydney to secure Rioli Jr.

Also we have Gold Coast’s third round pick this year so hopefully they win the spoon. Should send it back to them for Brodie.
We also have Geelongs 4th round selection which is probably going to be in the 60's

But very good chance there will be clubs needing points so we could move up the draft order by combining GC 3rd rounder + our 3rd rounder + Our 2nd to get another 1st round selection

Good thinking 👍
Any idea what range Rioli is forecasted to go in 2020?

Way too early to determine how he will go in the tac cup next year, But looking at whats being reported doesnt look like a 1st rounder

I wouldnt go that far, but I go to quite a few Suns NEAFL games and his disposal and decision making is very ordinary. Also he is contracted till 2020, and apart from his weaknesses, GC are not going to give him up cheap. A contested beast so could improve over time. Last week his first two disposals were terrible turnovers, one dump kick forward to noone. But did some good things and had good numbers by the end. The cost too much for me.

I’m gonna be honest , right now, no bloody way will MJ be top 10 , I’m no expert I’ll have a wild guess 35-55 at the mo , naturally that could change markedly in 12m , Dan improvement came sec half of u18 season

Yeah I will also be honest and say I have NFI about the guy. Why is everyone so excited about him then? Because of his old man and last name?
