Like Who? Going after Better Ones would cost Way To Much
Dave...how much or little do you think Schache is after?....They are already talking Godfather deals such as what was offered to Boyd, Franklin and Kelly.
Lions have already offered him $800k over 4 years and he is not looking at it. Richmond was rumoured to have offered him more per year over 5 years. Now we are rumoured to be heavily interested. So it would have to be huge. Is he worth it?. Schache's stats to date are significantly lower than what Boyd's were at the same time. Schache hasn't set the world on fire...nor has Boyd

I don't have any names.I think it would be better to get the best available key position player in the draft, and then try to get another key position player through free agency. It would help to rebuild our forward line a lot more quickly if we went about it that way.
So get Sam Reid and 1 of Hayes and Randor(Think it's his Name) in the Draft

Which key forward via free agency though?
There are no good ones.

Sam Reid is as good as it gets.
Sam Reid,i guess.I know he's not perfect, but it's better than anything we've got now.And it would allow us to keep our top draft pick, which we could use on another key forward.

True, but no doubt club could sell him the path we are going to be taking ( life after Bucks)
Yeah could be good but that's just more hope. No way they can sell another coach if there's no deal done. Other teams in front otherwise.
What would we give up for Scache even if he did choose us. Next years first pick, Sidey, Fas, Elliot, Smith steak knives. I don't know what but if we are going after Scache the decision making is just wrong IMO given he relative costs and were the holes are in our list.

Can't get a kick. Not much difference between him and another player that can't get a kick. Also he is a poor set shot at goal

Darcy Moore – 201cm
Games - 33
Kicks: 5.7; Marks: 4.3; CM: 1.7; HB: 3.4; Goals: 1.18; BH: 0.6; Tackles: 1.5; I50: 1.8

Josh Schache – 199cm
Games – 22
Kicks: 5.1; Marks: 3.8; CM: 1.0; HB: 3.5; Goals: 1.0; BH: 1.0; Tackles: 1.3; I50: 1.4
Darcy Moore – 201cm
Not exactly setting the world on fire but let's not forget he's a 2nd year KPF in a crap team who has had a few injuries lately.

KPF's usually take 3-4 years before they start performing at a decent level.

It's funny how his accuracy for goal has been so bad at AFL level...i remember everyone banging on about how he was an excellent set shot in his draft year...it was one of his key strengths.

I be tempted to have Steele in the Trade

Is he mates with Beams? Has he been paid less to stay on while others have got cash.
Are the lions on thee way up? Why would Steele want to go there, he'd want to go to a team in premiership mode wouldn't he? Giants, Dogs, Crows, Port, Saints, Eagles or so.

I would have thought we could only afford to trade Keefe Oxley Thomas and Smith for lions pick 105 and even then they were getting ripped off

Schache and Moore combo be tasty
In 3 or 4 years time maybe. Gonna get in each other's way developing otherwise. Neither has a consistent physically demanding presence as yet. Neither can hold their position in the marking contest. Young lightweights that can be bodied/ pushed out very easily. Did you see Rowe's hip tickles on Moore in the last quarter in the forward pocket at the punt road end. Moore jumped forward line hed had a massive shove but Rowes hands were very quick and Moore kept like he'd been shot.

Cox is not the answer, maybe Reidnis not either. Not sure
If Dunn can do it as he liked goodnat fb IMO but we need some forward Grunt muscle to provide strength to the forward line, not another lightweight.
Might as well take anorher KPP draft pick and push development of Mclarty and Lynch from last years draft.

Good thing about Schache is that he has had some development put into him so it wouldnt be like waiting a few years for someone like Brander or Fogarty to come on.

Yeah. What is everyones thougts on who would make the best pairing with Moore? Schache, Brander, Fogarty or Hayes.
I'm going with Brander or Fogarty as second tall. I think Hayes is more a Ruck forward isn't he. We've already got Lynch to develop so can't see the need for another young ruck forward.
