Hayes get me Excited as 17 Year Old like did with Grundy when he played as a UnderAger in the u-18 Champs
He kicked 6 in the TAC cup last weekend. Not that it means much with the TAC cup being pretty poor standard this year. Shows he can play forward though.

Damian Barrett has reported talks with Brodie grundy have stalled.
I would be quite annoyed if he leaves considering we basically gave away with Witts for Free.
I'm sure we had conversations with him at the end of last year to see where he intended to play.
We would basically be screwed for a while.

We're already screwed for a while... look at our KPP stocks.

Honestly if he leaves to Adelaide, I would ask for Sam Jacobs and Lever. We probably have to chuck in a second round pick. But literally it's the only way we aren't completely screwed.
I love Grundy but Ruck's are becoming less and less relevant.

Dogs didn't even bother having a ruck the other night and still managed to win the game. Cox could step into 1st ruck duties, his palm work is better than Grundy's anyway. While Grundy's work around the ground is top notch, but if the worst was to happen and Grundy decided to leave, and if it formed part of a deal to get Lever i think we would be ok. I would rather have a ruck deficiency than a Key Back/Forward deficiency.

We really need to fix the imbalance of our list, Key Defender/Key Forward/Quality user off half back with pace are the 3 main area's we really need to focus on.

I love Brody and we should be making sure we retain him but i wouldn't be too concerned if it helps us address bigger issues. We just can't lose him for draft picks.

We could potentially trade Grundy and Moore and 4 first round picks. Take 5-6 first round picks into the next two drafts. Could be a solid building platform. Give the onus to the other clubs to get there draft picks in a respectable range. For example we wouldn't take Adelaide's first this year which would be close to pick 17 you would assume!

Or ideally keep them both.

This is why we need a new coach quickly.

Assess the playing list from the outside, talk to players like Grundy on why they're required and their plans etc.

There is no way Darcy Moore is shown the door before Nathan Buckley(i dont actually know, but it should be like this).

If Moore or Pendlebury said they wanted out, and it was because of Buckley, surely the club picks them over Nathan.

Obviously be a different story if our coach had proven anything in his coaching career.

Grundy's situation is becoming more intriguing by the week.

As things move progress I'm becoming less concerned with the prospect of losing him. Say it's Adelaide he chooses. A deal involving Lever and their first pick could work. We then offload that pick to Brisbane for Schache.

We sure up both ends of the field in one hit, keep our top 5 pick and have a ready made replacement for Grundy in Cox (albeit of lessened quality). Food for thought.

I'm in your camp on this, any deals that involve Grundy that help us address our bookends issue i think can be turned into a win for the club. Lets be honest, Rucks don't win you games of footy.

The player that Grundy is turning into is, in my opinion, too valuable to be traded away. I rate Lever and I recognise our key position deficits, but Grundy at his best will be someone who helps us to control the midfield.

I'm not sure your post was advocating his trade so much as looking on the bright side if it should happen, but I hope that the club is working with utmost urgency to secure the big man's services.

I think Sco is fishing JB. (I hope he is anyway)

IMO lock the doors if Grundy leaves.
He should be priority number one this year.
