Personally would prefer we go Brander over him and by a fair margin too. If we don't go down the Fogarty path.
From what I have read Power reckon he'll be a better KPD so will be interesting to see how he's played. Isn't the most accurate infront of goal either and we haven't got the best developers for ironing out goal kicking. Don't think I could stand having another liability infront of goal for the next 10 years after Trav :p

Are you jumping at the post on Trade Radio's Facebook page, which is citing the following (at 44:54...?)

https://www.9now.com.au/afl-footy-show/2017/episode-9

"Yet to resume" talks, in Barrett's words. Old mate Damo also says, with developments on the new pay deal, "some movement on that (Grundy's contract)" expected soon...
Just something I read earlier on today, with everything that is going on at the club and the way we are playing just found it interesting

The player that Grundy is turning into is, in my opinion, too valuable to be traded away. I rate Lever and I recognise our key position deficits, but Grundy at his best will be someone who helps us to control the midfield.

I'm not sure your post was advocating his trade so much as looking on the bright side if it should happen, but I hope that the club is working with utmost urgency to secure the big man's services.
Definitely under the best circumstances, but if he pulls a Beamer I'm certainly not going to react in the same manner. Overall my preference is 100% to keep him (and I'm supremely confident we will) it just won't rip the guts out the way I'd initially thought it could.

I'd try not to feel gutted if we lost Grundy, but there'd be a bit of Monty Python's Holy Grail about it. Just a flesh wound!

Grundy would be a huge loss, no doubt. Especially having traded our best option outside him, Witts. We have spent so long without a gun ruck and only had Jolly for a short time. We would miss him as much as we are missing a KPF. Must keep.

IF GRUNDY LEAVES ....

Id try for Grundy for Lever + Crows 1st
Crows 1st for Schache
Use our first on Hayes.

Lose a first rounder and grundy for Schache Lever and Hayes. Thatd be ok.

Decent ruckmen are pretty easy to find and it wouldn't be the end of the world if Grundy were to leave, having said that it needs to be for the right compensation I would expect a first round pick and a decent player at a bare minimum.
Grundy still has flaws in his game and you are paying on potential partly and evidence to date as well.

Ideally though with a change of coach I would be more than happy for that team to make no changes to its personal and run out with a under a different leadership next year, I honestly see a really really good list being ruined by incompetence and pig headed direction.

They all hinted at Moore being the player but it maybe someone else I guess.

Schaz has often stated he feels he owes the club and really is only just starting to get some continuity in his footy. Doubtful it is him.

Aish may well be disgruntled and it would not be out of character for him, he got the sads in Brisbane when leppa dropped him back to the QAFL.
I am not cear how they can know a young player is unhappy and not know who it is?

That would help ease the pain. Once Grundy chooses his team you're kind of over a barrel. But given their first pick might be 16-18 it wouldn't be so hard to imagine them handing it over. Schache for pick 16-18 is unlikely surely.

For goodness sake, they never said Darcy was unhappy with or at the club.
He's, (supposedly) unhappy with the way he's being utilised or asked to play.
Let's face it, just about any one of our forwards could complain.
Stupid ball movement is killing them all.

PS: Garry Lyon said he'd be banging on the coaches door every week if it was him.

So you reckon the Lions are going to take pick 14 or later for a kid who was pick 1 2 years ago.

There is no way Darcy Moore is shown the door before Nathan Buckley(i dont actually know, but it should be like this).

If Moore or Pendlebury said they wanted out, and it was because of Buckley, surely the club picks them over Nathan.

Obviously be a different story if our coach had proven anything in his coaching career.
Exactly right, Moore is a massive part of our future & Pendles is a champion. Bucks had to go.

That's all I'd offer and its all he's worth look at what we got for Freeman and gave for Aish. Your draft pick value doesn't last long these days.

Plus anything they get pick wise will go toward Ballenden anyway.

The issue for me is can we get that from Adelaide? I mentioned earlier that it's the deal I'd look at, but there isn't a lot of meat on the bone for the Crows.
