Spoke to a friend who's wife works in the media, radio form, today and she mentioned that according to those in the SA footy media, the Port Adelaide FC are having a huge tilt at Grundy, and that some believe he will head home at seasons end. If this is the case, l would be absoulutely devastated!!
And Paddy Ryder and Charlie Dixon?

If l was to bet on whether Grundy will go or stay, what l have heard, l would put my money on him leaving. I believe he is studying at La Trobe uni now, but will look to transfer his course to a uni in SA. If this is the case, l would be asking for Trengrove.

I'd rather keep grundy. We don't have anyone to cover grundy. Cox is ok, but not for 22 games.

Unless it's 2 first rounders or trengrove and a mid round first, then no. They can get bent.

Little birdie tells me Sam Reid will play out his career with his brother.

Will solve the "why don't me move Ben Reid forward?" riddle anyway, just play one Reid at each end.

Swans won't be able to match our restricted FA offer as they have so much money tied up in Buddy and have to pay to keep the likes of Heeney, Allir and Mills.

Finally the Jesse White replacement we have been waiting for.

What if Ben Reid wanted to go north instead to the Swans?

Serious question. Is Grundy worth two first rounders.
I would take that in a heart beat

In reality, probably not. But any thing les than than pick 5-10 is probably getting ripped. The guy will become a 250game aa ruckman. He's still very, very young in ticking terms and and is nowhere near what I imagine his ceiling to be.

Agreed not yet no. But he needs to get in he middle to show his worth. Not much point him dominating in the middle in the vfl and then being starved of the play in our forward 50. I think he needs to get in the thick of it to develop and prove himself
That's a coaching issue, not a DeGoey issue though. Just about any other coach in the league would have him running through the middle by now instead of wasting him on a HFF.

To say nothing of the fact that the Swans have an incentive to let Reid walk anyway to pocket the draft pick. They need to go back to the pool anyway...

Nah he's worth more. You know you have a bloody valuable player on your hands when opposition supporters on the trade board are saying a Collingwood player is worth two firsts rather than trolling and saying he's shit.

Damn right it's a coaching issue and so it goes. No point getting 40games experience as a passenger out of the action.

I thought he showed enough in the first jlt game to suggest he'd get a run in the middle. Of course the whole hand thing has stalled his season and he's 1 game back but he did see much of the midfield rotation trotting round the hff against the blues and the mids were struggling part from 8minutes play in the second quarter.

We have 1 elite mid, 1 elite kick and a dozen or so nondescript mids with poor to good skills. If we going to take high draft picks on key mids we have to give them a chance to play that position otherwise their development stalls and they go stale or they move on.

Coaching or not it's just promise at the moment but he needs to get a go to grow and perform

Ask for two first rounders and pinch Pittard off them.
