IF Tippett is that Shit. Why does he get games for the Swans?
He gets a game for Sydney because Sydney is shit.

Tippett is not what we need, he looks disinterested most of the time and under a coach who believes the players should motivate themselves I really doubt Collingwood is the club for him.

We do need a player like him though, Cox isn't having the year I expected him to have.

Do we? As far as I can see we have four of those in Moore, Cox, White and McCarthy.

Give me a genuine key position/power forward thanks, Moore can stay in the ruck.
We may have 4 of them but none of those other 3 you listed are in our best 22 at the moment.

I'd rather Moore stay forward, get a Tom Lynch type forward to stay with him, and an upgrade on Jesse White to chop out in the ruck.

Unfortunately we just can't seem to find that Leigh Brown replacement. Jesse White isn't the answer.

That said, haven't seen any of McCarthy so happy to be told he's the one.

Why? He's starting to play career best footy while playing in the ruck, seem to be thriving on getting involved in the middle.

We need to get cyberdine on the phone and get them to send Arnold to the gws to neutralize gubby Allan prior him coming to the pies.
Unfortunately I think its gone the other way and we are threatened with a return of "The Gubbernator"

"I'll be back..."

"12 gague autoloader"

"The 45 longslide with auto..."

"Phased plasma rifle in a 40 watt range..."

"We only have what you see in the shop!"

"Kurt Tippett for this years and next year's first rounders."

"Hey you can't do that!"

"Wrong..."

"Now who do I trade for an UZI 9 mm..."

I don't disagree with you, but I don't want to rely on him for that role. If he starts to really hit his straps as a marking and scoring forward, that's where I'll want him to stay.

For me, it's a full forward we need. Let Moore be the chop out in the ruck and play an extra runner. That gives Grundy all the minutes he feeds off. Moore is also quality in the ruck and is freed from the responsibility of CHF. Plus it lets us play all our mid sized forwards, another strength of the team. Who we could get for that full forward role is debatable but I reckon that's our real need.

Kurt Tippett on the cheap would be a solid stop gap if we used our first on a kpf this year. In my opinion Tippett needs to be the man inside 50, as soon as they got buddy, he became useless. He is exactly the low valued player who could actually make a difference. Think Jarrad Waite.
You're forgetting the great big $1.6m price tag over the next two years. I agree that he could be a solid foil, but not unless he takes a Clokesque pay cut which isn't happening so either Sydney are stuck with him or some stupid prick bails them out. Given our history Tippett come on down!!

Mitch McGovern is a monty to join Jeremy next year so it might be worth locking in on Darling to see if we can shake him loose!

Tippet was killing it last year as the no 1 ruck. Not sure what's going on with him. I would not be against giving the big lug a 1 year deal for peanuts, costing peanuts. Dollar a bag...

Scary thing for me (I don't rate him) is that if I am not mistaken I remember Hine saying that Tippett was one pick that he regrets.

He was going to rookie list him I think.

Not 100% on that and someone with better knowledge might be able to confirm that.

Sam Reid has gotten plenty of discussion in this thread. One argument that gets thrown up is that his average goal tally would be significantly higher if it weren't for his time in defense. So I crunched some numbers. Sam Reid has played 108 games for 109 goals, averaging just over a goal a game. In his 108 games he has played in defense on 17 occasions. Remembering some of those games were split forward as well. That means from the 91 games he has played forward he averages just under 1.2 goals a game.

Another interesting fact is that he has missed 46 games through injury, 11 to achilles, 10 to hamstrings, 15 to quads, 9 to calfs and 1 to a hip. With the exception of his hip each of those injuries has recurred.
