Sam Reid has gotten plenty of discussion in this thread. One argument that gets thrown up is that his average goal tally would be significantly higher if it weren't for his time in defense. So I crunched some numbers. Sam Reid has played 108 games for 109 goals, averaging just over a goal a game. In his 108 games he has played in defense on 17 occasions. Remembering some of those games were split forward as well. That means from the 91 games he has played forward he averages just under 1.2 goals a game.
Another interesting fact is that he has missed 46 games through injury, 11 to achilles, 10 to hamstrings, 15 to quads, 9 to calfs and 1 to a hip. With the exception of his hip each of those injuries has recurred.
