Who are we trading out to get it done? Because that looks like a $2.2-2.5 million hunk out of our salary cap to me. I think we can get the first two with some fiddling around the edges, but all three will require a sacrifice.
May would probably be asking for a Mill+ to move states with the new expanded salary cap

Yeah I cringe at reading De Goey's name being thrown up....If we get May I want club to trade out say a Sidney & Greenwood or Sidey & a 2nd rounder (need to acquire) keep De Goey & out 1st pick at all costs.
Yeah I cringe at these suggestions too given we'd need to offer up 3 De Goey's to get GC remotely interested.

If you think we couldn't fit them in then you have no vision or business sense + 20% more in next years salary cap

Absolutely not for me.
De Goey will be special, in my view.
why we would give him up just doesn't compute, looks a head ball beast through the middle.
He's to me one of our untouchables.
You have to give something up for May. De Goey is a good starting point. De Goey is surplus to our needs he can barely get a run in our midfield at present, a defender the quality of May would be huge for us. What else we'd have to include in the deal I'm not sure, but they'd want a lot more than just him.

All I can say to that is simply, if this was say 10, 12 years ago, I wouldn't have given up Swan for whoever.

De Goey may* just be our swan in the making.

*pun intended

I would take Lever over May. I just think that Lever has more upside and scope to play the ever changing modern game.

Are there any?
Totally agree Saintly JDG is a must keep,he will be a 10 year+ raging bull once he makes a midfield position his own.
Could easily see him becoming a goal kicking mid and is smart with the pill has plenty of grunt,in my eyes that makes him part of our future.
Would be stupid move to trade him when he is just about to pay off.

For a Tall(Which we should Of Picked) I would trade De Goey
Just can't agree on that.
Too me De Goey is likely A grade talent, I have him as an untouchable. Premium talent.
Talls? Draft for them, get them where you can but not by losing A grade talent.
Just my two cents.

It's a little late now. Especially when you consider if we went for Moore or Lever, it's bloody ridiculous considering we could have drafted either of those players.
We would probably have to throw something else in with De Goey for either of those players.

I don't see De Goey as A-Grade/Elite Player. I see him a very good player and B/B+ Player

Agree. We have to add talent not lose it.

Yeah but you don't see Jesse White grabbing onto someone's jumper and staring them in the eyes as they're frantically bashing his wrist, trying to make him let go, do you?
As discussed with Apex, no I don't. But White wasn't recruited for that, nor is he needed for that with players like Adams, Grundy, Dunn, and Maynard in the playing group. He more than matches Brown in every other aspect.

It's an area of oversupply so finding midfield options that have realistic appeal to other clubs is going to be easier. None of the developing mids have more currency than DeGoey.

Except the dual sidedness. Brown had an excellent left peg, Whites is non existant.

I'd reckon we'd have $2.5-2.7m max cap space even allowing for the new EBA growth. Have to resign at least Grundy this and another dozen or so in 2018 within that funding pool. Not sure it leaves enough to add too many on anything like $5-600k or even more.
