soft spot for Carlton out of pity
Throw everything at lever. 1st rounder swap. Help them get Gibbs.

Throw everything at lobb.
No, don't throw everything. I do not like the concept of throwing everything when we will have a top five pick and the potential to pick up a guy like Will Sutherland who could be better than both Lever or Lobb. Lobbs stocks also diminishing? Has had a poor year hasn't he?

we cant simply afford to throw the baby out with the bath water
we need to re jig our list due to poor selections, development and just plain bad luck which of course is typical of our lot
simply put my belief is the following 7 things have really stuffed us,now 1, 2 or even 3 or 4 but 7 fmd, they are
1 gault not comming on after a huge investment
2 the big show a perfect body shape fit and the physical tools to succed in todays game with PRESENCE
3 swanny the ONLY GUY we could bank on to consistently beat his opponent 1 on 1 with PRESENCE
4 clokes fall of the cliff, prior had presence
5 jamies backhas presence
6 reids decline prior had presence
7 dawes broken knuckle huge imput into our last flag, placed too much pressure on cloke, key player underrated
please note all are forwards and all would be top 22
a forward line comprising the following looks damn good
elliot cloke swan
abbott dawes fasolo
moore could then develop on a wing or in the VFL alongside Cox
Now all i hear is BUCKS is this and that ,fuelled by a rampant media (vultures) and predicatably endorsed by fools , trade pendels ,sidey ,sack eddie, sack hine fair dinkum what are you guys on, you do realise that we have never recieved a fair rub of the green , would have 10 more wins over 2 years sedated your HATE and your calls for CHANGE, because thats what's happened and some perspective is required.
off the list imo are obvious
oxley,blair,goldy,sinclair,sier,keefe,schade
trades
aish,broomhead,sharanburg ,reid
incomming
brown f/s,alir,cox thomas
rookie
swan ,sier keefe
get lever or casbolt
i love this team then
adams alir dunne
howe varco lever
AT wills wells
fasolo moore elliot
pendels swan kirby
grundy maynard greenwood
this team wins most weeks with swan or kirby deep deep deep, levi tagging, lots of flexability and plenty of hard heads, presently its levi ,adams ,maynard and a bit of pep from Grundy adding lever wills, kirby and swan gives us PRESENCE
NOTE only2 new players and 1 champion returns
TOP 4 beckons
easily done
ben reid and 3rd round to sydney for alir alir and second
broomhead, aish, sharenberg ( he wont make it )and pick 4 for lever and pick 2
heaps of cap space then for Lynch, wright, cameron , who knows
11 changes from current list
2/3 from other clubs in trades
2/3 rookie upgrades then hit the draft and look at speed
I feel though we could lose Grundy and others if Bucks Goes and he just might be for Lever
if so Cox goes in as First Ruck and Always will give us first use anyway, so( i dont want him to go but) IF the price is right?
WE AINT FAR AWAY BOYS
See what you're saying....even if I don't agree with some of it. Ignore the snobs giving it to you over your punctuation. Keep posting

I'd throw money at either Zak jones, Jayden hunt or James Harmes.

Basically if Zak Jones goes to Melbourne, we chase one of those 2 boys.
Basically promising them a guaranteed game as Zak Jones would push one of them out.

Id rather use a top 5 pick to actually get someone decent than waste it on Freeman/Sharenberg 2.0

Yes he was cooked, but I have it on very good authority that this is what happened. Remember, he had played some games that year.
And was bog average in them. Literally the only good thing he did in the seniors all year was shut down Shaw vs GWS, and even then he was terrible the next week.

This story sounds like an excuse to make Caff look hard done by, which based on performance, he absolutely wasn't.

I would be in the "yes" camp on this one.

Firmly in the "no" camp for suggestions of trading Grundy.
Even if it meant helping to secure a Lynch type forward? Just do it. Grundy isn't going to be the beast people think he's going to be. Cox would be a much better option in the Ruck with help from Moore if a player like Lynch comes in.

what do you mean , i havent spouted trade sidey, pendels or any of that crap
re recruiting a champion to play forward whos now fitter than hes been for years or is it trading a has been injury prone back who has been surpased by younger more athletic version or the future champion we recruit with a few blokes who have shown us what? and will go eventually anyway go back home.
you need to regenerate, you need to have SOME currency to land a decent recruit.
whats your advice , keep reid and get his brother? watch Alir Alir go elsewhere, miss out on the future again because of sentiment.
i reiterate were not far away
we have Nick Daicos comming in so Broomys gone then in 2 years
shaz too slow, ive seen him play vfl live and it aint pretty even there, aish well we all can see how thats going
Mesa thinks youva watched too mucha Yoda v's Jar Jar Binx cartoons.

I would take Lobb before casboult or reid every day of the week.

Lobb is extremely overrated for a guy who is neither a #1 ruck nor #1 forward. He's a standard key forward with a good set of hands, nothing more. Take 10cm off him and he's Levi Casboult 2.0

Reid or Casboult for free > paying for Lobb every single day of the week

Wow. Just wow. Grundy is tracking to be a beast of a ruckman, no question. He'll hold his own at worst in the ruck (is 4th right now) and he is so capable around the ground for a big man. Just bewildering think we would trade him given how we have longed for a star ruckman so often in the past.

I strongly believe the reason why we are here is because of the failed 2012 & 2013 drafts.

2012:
National118Brodie Grundy
National119Ben Kennedy
National120Timothy Broomhead
National238Jackson Ramsay
National594Marley Williams
Rookie213Kyle Martin
Rookie227Sam Dwyer
Rookie335Adam Oxley
Rookie441Jack Frost
Rookie547Ben Hudson
Rookie649Peter Yagmoor
Rookie753Ben Richmond

Only winner there is basically Grundy. Everyone else is a fail or just a pass(average AFL player).

2013:
National16Matthew Scharenberg
National110Nathan Freeman
National465Tom Langdon
National577Jonathon Marsh
National687Sam Dwyer
National792Adam Oxley
Rookie110Corey Gault

Unfortunate for Marsh, but everyone else from this draft is a fail or just pass. I know injuries have played a major part, but that's just life.

Players from these draft for other teams are in the top 5 of their B&F. Apart from Grundy, everyone else is fringe a player even the ones that don't even play for us anymore, Eg: Ben Kennedy.

Right, but who are these Lynch type forwards that are available. He isnt, from what I've read (did he sign or was that May?). Point being anyone available is a lesser Lynch type, and likely doesn't warrant the high cost of Grundy.

2013 draft we were extremely unlucky.

Nobody could have predicted 2 knees to Scharenberg and Freeman's tissue paper hammies (and still hasn't debuted)

And 2012 draft was horrendous.
Look at the players after our picks.

Spuds everywhere.

Wood and Membrey the only players I'd be interested in.

There's three hits there. Grundy, Williams and Langdon. IMO, its harsh to lay blame purely at the feet of the recruiters because we're good development of Ramsay, Broomhead and Scharenberg plus not trading out Williams away from it being a successful period.
