Pendlebury is on more and rightly so.

Only two players are on big bucks at our Club........the rest don't deserve it.

If we want the best KPP then we pay simple.

We get Lever we only need one more KPP IMO and we make finals in 2018.
More than a million? I have a hard time believing that, but if you say so.

I still don't think Lever is worth that kind of cash. As you said, if you want the best you pay, but Lever is not the best. He has a lot of potential, and is the best available. That shouldn't mean he gets a million bucks. That sort of offer sets a dangerous precedent. If I was Grundy's manager I'd be asking some questions. He still hasn't signed yet.

Reckless list management imo.

I'll confess I'm one of the few that hasn't seen enough of Lever to comment one way or the other.
I gather he's usually a loose/3rdman up, whilst it's important generally speaking, I don't think it's what our backline needs.
He does not play as a loose player in the backline. He generally plays on a player but has no problem pealing off his man to impact another contest.
He has speed, agility, a lot of tenacity, and is exceptional in his 2nd efforts. He is a confident player that wants to be the best he can be.
To me he appears like he wants to leave his mark on the game.

So Carlton will be paying him $1 mill ? Is that what you're suggesting ?
No....that's not the way clubs generally operate. At this stage he is not worth that so its unlikely that Carlton would pay him more that 400-500k per season on a 2-3 year deal. Obviously if you increase the years it would suggest that you would pay him more on a per season bases as you are backing the players talents to supersede his final years salary.

Paying a player the money he will potentially earn in 4-5 years such as 1 million dollars only works on a longer contract where you pay overs in the early years to benefit later provided injuries don't set in. The big money offers financial security to a player and generally blows them away and is very difficult to ignore.

Off topic but why is the footy show not on tonight? Has it been axed?
Suspended for 1 week whilst they reboot with Ed.
Back next week.
2 weeks. Returns August 10.

Did you miss the thread on it Pablo? Eddie is back and Hutchy is gone. Fingers crossed it can go back to how it was before those two idiots Lyon and Brayshaw took over.

I should be Knightmare' right hand man. Get rid of of Hine's team.

Our secret weapon is Tradedraft is our negotiator.

Btw no to Motlop, he's the opposite of Greene. S-O-F-T.
The annoying thing is people have called him soft for years, and nothing's changed.
You've had us picking up Otten, Bruce, Billings, Curnow, McKay, Weideman and Greene. And this is all just in the last 48 hours. Not sure where you're going to get all of these draft picks from, maybe you found a few under the couch or something?

Seriously though, can't we just go to the draft? There's a big reason why we've only debuted 1 player this season, it's because we keep trading our picks for established players. We only have 3-4 kids in the 2's, and plenty of recycled types.

No more trade scenario madness! Relax, it's only July. No need to come up with 3 trade scenarios per day. Someone else mentioned you're becoming this years Matty...

I agree on your Grundy point Apex...........I know I will sound like a hypocrite but he should be our third player on big bucks at our Club. He is our future and I would love him to be our next Captain.

Back to Lever he might not be worth those $ but like I said he is probably the best KPP out of contract so he goes to the top of the tree.

The way the game is heading the intercept marking and smart KPP are going to be worth their weight in gold.

I tell you what Lever and S.Reid (not my ideal choice) and we are a relevant Football Club again in 2018.

I'm not convinced. They might help, but until our coaching panel is cleaned out I don't see improvement. I just see good players being embarrassed by poor structures.

I wasn't as bullish on him as I am ATM but he has everything a modern footballer needs. He is extremely talented and was a 1st round pick in the same year as he did his knee. That alone tells me how highly he is rated at the Crows.

I have been watching him closely all season especially once all the rumors started about his potential move back to Melbourne.

I know people don't want to pay Lever that type of money and who knows what the real figure is but this kid can become the Rance of Collingwood. Paying for potential is dangerous I agree but this kid has super star written all over him imo. I think if we got him everyone would be extremely happy in 2-3 years time.

I agree and more so if we are ti offer over 650k per year. What we really need a few more midfielders like Hopper and Smith because with 21 on our list we don't have enough
