You've had us picking up Otten, Bruce, Billings, Curnow, McKay, Weideman and Greene. And this is all just in the last 48 hours. Not sure where you're going to get all of these draft picks from, maybe you found a few under the couch or something?

Seriously though, can't we just go to the draft? There's a big reason why we've only debuted 1 player this season, it's because we keep trading our picks for established players. We only have 3-4 kids in the 2's, and plenty of recycled types.

No more trade scenario madness! Relax, it's only July. No need to come up with 3 trade scenarios per day. Someone else mentioned you're becoming this years Matty...
They were all just possibilities. I thought they were alright possibilities. I just don't want us getting in champs like Mayne and White.

I personally believe we need to trade our first round pick. We have gone down the way of "buying a premeiship", not developing a premiership.
There's no point us getting a 18 year old kid in who's probably not gonna play anytime soon.
We need experienced players.
Our peak is 3 years time.
At that time I rather have a 25 year old Lever than a 21 year old midfielder who will be behind De GOEY, Treolar, Adams, Maynard, Aish and maybe even Pendlebury.

We traded this guy for pick 105 and he's averaging 1 more disposal... And wasn't costing 1 million per season...

Comparing apples to oranges there. While Marley has been having a good year for North, he's not even in the same ball park to Lever.

Lever's mythology is getting built up to some pretty epic heights in this thread. Are people seriously considering it a good idea to give up our first round pick and 1 million a year in salary to a tall defender? You don't pay that kind of coin to a key defender. And Lever hasn't even proven he can play as a key defender consistently. Lever is a good player but that's crazy shit.

Think our first (or future first) would go close to getting Hopper and Smith.

But I can't see GWS trading Greene unless he has a major stuff up between now and the end of the year (gets suspended for 4 weeks in R23 or something) and even then I think they'd be looking for something fairly similar to the Treloar deal.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I hope we trade hard for (generally young) players this year.
2018 first -> Hopper + Smith
Pick 6, 36 + Aish -> Lever + McGovern
S. Reid FA
or something similar would make me very happy.

Possibly slightly unders on the trades and could cause salary issues, but something like this would make our first 22 look pretty strong...
Greene grew up a pies fan and his family are mad Collingwood supporters but I think Tobey likes being at GWS (and being away from Melbourne).

Ill give it another 3 Seasons before rookie contracts are extended to 4 years, i dont care how talented you are, but players in the 19 - 22 age bracket shouldn't be getting million dollar a Season offers
Longer rookie contracts won't stop clubs offering kids huge contracts to relocate.

Brisbane get 2 picks within top 10.
GWS probably won't delist many so the best young kid in the comp can go straight there.
Getting 2 picks gives them coverage for losing the 1000 points, gets them 2 quality kids or coverage for academy kids (do they have any this year?) AND gives them flexibility to trade out later picks. Just don't see the benefit of adding a 3rd club into the mix unless Kelly nominates a club other than the club with the 2x picks.

I think Grenne is a fantastic footballer but I don't want him or his family anywhere near Collingwood. There's a reason why he likes being away from Melbourne.

Maybe I missed it, but has Zac Jones re-signed.

Wonder if we could get him for our early second and an upgrade of the swans picks.

I realise we have a few options in the hbf role, but he is an upgrade on any of the lockdown defenders we have. Provides very good rebound as well.

It was pointed out a while ago, he was there when he dad got assulted by Collingwood supporters after a game when he was younger. Don't think that would leave a great desire to head to us.

1) We don't have an early second. That belongs to GWS.

2) Jones was drafted at pick 14 iirc, and his stocks certainly haven't gone down this year. They would want a first for him.
