Again with the trade De Goey talk?

Why do people thinking trading one of our handful of future A graders is a good idea?
Gotta give something to get something. I'm on the "trade Steele" bandwagon if some big chips are on the table, but I know you're a big fan so I think you'll need to cop this one especially considering he was on the table last year and his early season indiscretion.

Again, we wait until Lynch is a Free Agent next year and we're up against 16 other clubs chasing him at the same time. That and GCS can match unless we put forward such an unbelievable offer to him that it ruins our salary cap anyway.

Making him an offer this year wouldn't be the worst idea.

Surprised that Jack Redpaths name hasnt been brought up.. Only 26 KPF and would be a cheap option both trade value and Salary.. If we could get Lever and him in this trade period it would be a massive bonus moving forward.

Having already been linked to Close from Brisbane which doesn't feel me with much excitement, nor did it appear to excite anyone else much either, another Brisbane KPF has said to be looking to leave the club. Jono Freeman is one who seems surplus to requirements at the Lions and I think has shown a fair bit more than Close. Has had quite a few injuries in the past but has kicked 16 goals from his 14 games and is only ~22/23. Would he deemed more worthy of throwing a late pick at rather than Close???
For me it's top grade forwards only.

Would rather we play Cox up front for 23 games than land the Close or Freeman's of this world.

I don't think the club would do it, but I'm in the trade Sidebottom camp. His perceived quality league wide is much higher than his actual quality. You just have to listen to the commentators waxing lyrical about him every game to know that.

Most neutrals I know consider Steele to be a top level footballer and although he is a good player, his actual impact on games is minimal. We would get more for him than his worth which is what you want in a trade option.
