You never knock back a player like Lynch in my opinion Blues are doing pretty well in the key position spots, they need to start getting the midfield loaded.

Pies could get Lever, Smith this year and Lynch next year, the Pies are top 4 with a good coach.

Mate, if we get Lever this year and Lynch next year I'll honestly have my hand on my knob during every collingwood game for the next ten years..

Not every player you bring in is going to be a potential top 5 player.

You do need to have some depth guys on your list. Adding a young KP who has battled injury misfortune or a KP player who isn't getting much senior football opportunity on the cheap would help our list dynamic.
This.

Now I dont want a Corey Gault 2.0 but unless we can get a Lynch type then we could do a lot worse than getting someone like these guys as a depth who can fill in if needed, but also has potential for improvement.

How's Schade working out for us? Recruit for guys that will improve your best 22 because at worst it'll squeeze a guy out that's currently in there. Close doesn't do that.

FWIW McStay is massively underrated in these parts it seems.

I haven't seen much of Close. Only seen him play up forward, where he doesn't look likely - despite looking like he likes to compete and is the right size. Is there any chance of him as a defender?
Played forward and back as a junior. I actually preferred him as a back. Got really good endurance and agility.

Wasn't Treloar a Carlton supporter growing up???
Yep
Mr Pendlebury was Melbourne

Nick maxwell can be the runner for AFL Giants ect etc etc

Peter McKenna was Essendon growing up

Dermie was a mad magpies boy, actually he still has a soft spot for us.

My favourite was hawk Jaime Morrissey, was such a mad magpie, he used to look at the scoreboard when we were playing whilst he was playing for hawthorn checking how we were going.

I would chase Jack Leslie from the GCS. Let him know that he's number 3 or 4 in their pecking order. Sam Day, Steven May and Rory Thompson all higher than him. He would come cheap. I reckon Josh Thomas, Keeffe or Josh Smith for him would probably be fair. He's got so much upside. Only 22. Body type of Rance.

Tristan Walker also had the body type of Rance. What are Leslies playing attributes thst would make him a good fit for us? Speed/Agility/Skills/Temperament/Marking/Reading of the play/Touch .... that sort of stuff.

P.S. not criticising the idea just interested in some more info. Body shape isn't the strongest argument ;)

Thomas and Keeffe are both unrestricted free agents. I'm pretty sure it's been said at least 20 times in the past week in this thread. Not sure why people are still insisting on using them in trade scenarios.

Good contested mark. Good kick. Still young will develop into a gun.

I think the least they could do is be traded after we kept them on the list for 2 years.
