It must be considered that his form this year could be due to both family troubles and a detachment from the Bulldogs.

I think you'd be able to back him in to improving next year in an environment he wants to be in. Unlike Mayne whom continued his form from the last few games last year.

I'm not desperate to get Stringer, mainly because of cost, but if we go after him I'd fully trust the club to get a good gauge on him first. And for him to turn it around.

Jake Stringer anyone?

By the way what happened there?

I thought Bevo was good at keeping everybody. Hmmm, what really happened there
I posted elsewhere buyer beware. If one of the best AFL coaches and man managers renowned for his player relationships is willing to let him go at the age of 22 something is seriously wrong.

We should move on as we have more pressing needs.

Or maybe Bevo isn't as good as he gets credit for.

It's funny isn't it. Last year Hardwick was a hack, this year he's the second coming of jesus. Last year Hinkley had been found out, this year a miracle man (until the weekend).

The rhetoric around this guy is amazing. One group saying he's shit and has played a handful of games despite being an AA, and the other saying he's an amazing superstar once in a generation type...

The guy is a super talent no doubt, and if he gets his head right he'll be good value even for pick 6, but the question marks over whether or not he can get his head right are too big imo, and we can't afford to take a large chunk of our salary cap and throw it at a player who's not a 100% certainty at this point.

If we hadn't blown so much cash on Mayne last year I'd probably be more open to a move on Stringer, but I think we're better off drafting a Fogarty or Balta and developing them ourselves.

Key difference is Bevo is a Premiership coach. That alone elevates him to elite status amongst coaches.

And it's a funny thing, coaches want to win. They want the best and most talented players to help them win.

But Bevo doesn't want a 22 year old AA player who can win a game off his own boot, and is now publicly putting him up for trade.

Funny that. Mustn't want to win anymore.

Writing off a guy who had a shit year where he had a crap load of injuries AND split up with wife AND apparently had beef with players at the club

With a point to prove at his new club, this guy will turn it on in 2018 with a full preseason

100%
I just don't see it personally. If I was in the recruiters shoes and saw what Stringer is putting out I would be pretty confident I'd be looking elsewhere. His downward slope of form is a worrying sign especially if you're paying a hefty price in pick 6.

Yeah he has all these things going on in his life but is that going to be fixed with a new club? From what I have read it seems the dogs were patient with him but things have obviously come unstuck. To say he's going to turn it on 100% next year is a massive call.

No thanks, couple things people might not know about the package.

He wants to be a midfielder.

He has a shit attitude.

He doesn't do himself any favours with injury rehab.

He is the bread winner of the family, very much like the Clokes, they are all in his ear.

AFL will make sure the Suns can Match ANY Bid
I don't know about match any offer. Their offer still has to fit the salary cap. I agree the afl will do what they can to keep lynch at the suns but any ambassador type roles are outside the cap therefore can't be included when matching an offer. The suns will have the money to match the offer but it will depend on Lynch's decision and wether he wants to chase the money or return to victoria. They won't keep him against his will.

Malthouse in 2008/2009 was too old and should retire. 2010/2011 he's a God. 2012... I can't believe they got rid of him!

Wasn't the rumour about Stringer and someone else's missus? Or someone else and Stringer's missus? This is surely a Lonergan and Christensen moment.

I think the rumour was JJ and his missus.

People on dogs board seem to think moore jas issues witj buckley?
Any truth to this?
Sounds like a desperate 'Moore for Stringer' scenario someone has made up.

All the noise is that all the young guys love Bucks. And I doubt he'd contemplate moving to a shithole like WB. His old man always said his biggest mistake was leaving Collingwood so I'm pretty sure that would have rubbed off on Darcy.
