On Stringer...

People have said there will be a bidding war for him, but this is not necessarily true.

Lets say Stringer decides the club he wants to go too... he then goes to the dogs and says "trade me to Collingwood, thats where i want to go."

Collingwood could then say we'll give you a third round pick... Bulldogs then go back to Stringer and say we want you to go the Essendon cause they're willing to give us a first round pick, Stringer can simply say no... i want to go to the Pies.

Bevo has said he has to go, so the threat of making Stringer fulfill his contract is off the cards.

Stringer has the power to chose exactly where he wants to play... and its not like he'll care if the dogs get a fair trade as he is being shown the door on a current contract.
With that logic we'd have only got a third rounder in return for Beams

Jackson Ramsay for Harley Balic
Josh Smith for a late pick

2 year contracts: Phillips
1 year contracts: Sinclair, Thomas, Wills, Crocker
Rookie/re-rookie: Lynch, McCarthy, Sier
Retire/delist: White, Blair, Keeffe, Mackie, Schade
I like Sinclair, but surely he's cooked? Why would we offer him another year when he's been injured for the last four? Please no.

Thing is tho some of the best players in the comp have attitude behaviour issues just look at dusty
Attitudes like dusty's can be managed because he wouldn't have step on many toes doing what he is doing. Stringer on the other hand was reportively very slack with injury rehab etc. He has become a lazy footballer with attitude problems. That's the difference.

I do a lot of boxing, Dusty has been down at my gym since mid last year, doesn't have to do the extra, that's what makes the good ones great.

He was drafted by the Lions in 2009 then due to injury and as I understand off-field family distractions just couldn't maintain his spot. Still only 26.
He's a classic full forward at 6'5 & 90kg. He has all the skills, sound leading patterns and great leap and hands. With 60 goals to his name this season can obviously kick pretty straight and a big reason why they're on top of the QAFL ladder.
Does he still carry those injuries now? If not why is he not at least rookie listed at Brisbane? Has he been delisted? I say buyer beware! Unless you can "sell" why we should get

Bottom 4 of the 8 you mean surely
Easier draw (13) not contaminated by essendon penalty this year which certainly gave Melbourne, port and essendon a huge leg up with those new top end recruits .( note played all 3 last season twice for 1/5). Continuity a settled list , better assistant coaches, natural development and of course picking guys in the right spots all will help. Crisp hbf, varcoe hff, adams bb, treloer hbf all examples of using our strengths better and allowing lesser lights Wills, maynard , Degoey more midfield time as they are ALL bigger ,STRONGER, meaner
LOCK IT IN and GET ON
Actually I agree with both in part. Reckon we'll tip 1 way or the other and it all hinges on a few areas

How we develop our current best 22, reckon there's still a lot of improvement there - just coach it out of em! (Nathan if you don't then you'll need to take on board constructive criticism - I believe if you are inflexible this is the one thing holding back your improvement!)

IF we bring in a ready made KPF to help Darcy out and trade out something we don't need - a mid. wc need mids and we need a Darling or a Lynch (pricey but)

The draw will be easier than this year - agree with Darky there! combine the 2 points above then we're contending for the 8

2018 2nd + J Smith to GC for 24 + 34

34 + 36 + 59 (1202 pts) to Bris for 18 (985 pts)

Dogs lose: 9 + Stringer
For: 6 + 15
Rich lose: 15 + 16
For: 24 + Stringer
'Pies lose: 6 + 24
For: 9 + 16
(this trade values Stringer ~11)

54 + D Smith to Cats, 18 to GWS, Cats 2018 1st to us

Leaves us only 2 picks (9, 16) in the draft (plus upgrading Cox, Thomas and taking Brown as a late pick/rookie)
plus upgrades our 2nd in 2018 to the Cats 1st.

Never gonna happen I know, but hoping the club get creative with their trading of picks. With having 2 guys to upgrade and a F/S expected to be available late / rookie, the mid-late picks hold little value for us imo - trade 'em up or trade 'em in to next year.

Hardwick spoke at length recently on 1 of the footy shows about how Dusty had turned himself around in terms of his off field attitude and behaviours. As with most of these transformations though, it has to be the player driving it. Some mature, some don't.

Maybe he'll be a terrible pick up like Mayne, because he's a terrible player.

Honestly Dave, he only managed 8 games at a club in the same boat as us, screaming out for key forwards. He's garbage.
Then why Bother Trading any Pick then 1st Rounder as you not getting a Best 22 Players/

Surprised there so many Trades then.

As you would know everything

There is surely a difference with behaviour issues pertaining to at the club and outside of the club.

Some might be dumb wits outside of goofball, but do everything right at training etc and on the field. I'm guessing Dusty is this.

Stringer sounds like a slacker in both areas. That's concerning.

Yep. We shouldn't go near him and probably won't. Boyd will give us the inside scoop.

Stringers issues are allegedly way past attitude related and he should never play for us.
