He couldn't get a game for an injury riddled side outside the finals, just a couple of injuries for the grand finalists and he was in and didn't let them down.
You've missed the main thing that's meant to be taken out of that article -

Buckley as a coach has sucked the life out of Collingwood, on and off the field.
There's never going to be a definitive answer to that. its an opinion. if you asked others they might say the opposite.

imo seedsman chose to party. that's why he is gone.

I really like the idea of Saad since he has gotten through this season injury free. His run and carry opens up the game and creates chaos which upsets defensive structures. That is a tremendous boon for our ball movement which needs improvement. We also have a real list need there given Ramsays form and Sinclair and Varcoes injury concerns.

The other I like for similar reasons is Harrison Wigg. He is 60-65m accurate kick that could open up the play with his footskills. And he'd come cheap I reckon, think 3rd or 4th rounder. Probably similar to what we get for Ramsay if he moves west.

If we got Saad and Wigg we'd have two difference makers. One with his pace the other with incisive kicking. It would add so much variety to our backline and would be very positive to our ball movement.

I'd be happy to swap Broomhead for Wigg.

Our list has to make incremental improvements through player swaps not handing over picks. Not every pick up will be a star but there are role players which can make a significant difference for us.

My theory is if we have a quite off-season this year we are diffently lining up a big offer for Lynch next year. If we can land Saad and Watts and take 6 to the draft will be good trade period. Play a small forward line ie Richmond this year with Moore, Elliott, Fas and Watts with Kirby becoming a regular and on occasions swing Reid forward. Then throwing everything at Lynch next season.

the coach doesn't have time to have a quiet off season. he needs to make list changes this year.

Only this year he missed a couple of games. There's only Rory Laird, Nathan Wilson and Zac Williams who are better than him, but remember they all play in a better team too. He's very very good.
I have seen very little of the Suns so I don't really know that image though is what sticks in my mind

Not a bad call. Crows probably feel the same about Wigg as we do about Broomy. We have surplus forward flanker/mids and need better kicking out of the back half.

In "nahnah's" defence CFC he's talking about elite in there positions, which I too consider Saad in his position.....can't compare to Ablett as he isn't a small defender.

As I've agreed before, our focus should be on KPP's but at the same time one of the other areas we need to address is speed and someone who can break the lines and a player like Saad addresses this in defence......providing he doesn't cost too much in picks/players.

I'll ask the question, what does everyone think he is worth?
Suns need midfielders.
Straight swap Thomas for Saad. Thomas is surplus to our needs and is a Queenslander.
I wouldn't give up pick 36 for him, he finished 10th in their B & F in a crap year for the club.

My excitement for a Lynch signing is cooling in relation to Schache. At the point now where I'd prefer the latter if we really believe in him. Lynch is going to cost us the world in terms of salary and are we not still going to need to trade? This is a Dangerfield situation isn't it? I doubt the Suns would be as gentle as the Crows were with Geelong. Lynch will cost us two first rounders, at minimum, including the prized 2018 pick.

Interesting to note that Josh has shown "nothing" while kicking 25 goals in his first two years. Lynch? He kicked 27 in 3 more games.

The idea is that Schache comes close to reaching Lynch's level but we get him a year earlier and he costs us less (likely by more than half in both trade and salary), add to that Moore and Schache are very close in age and would develop together. I'm now baulking at the cost of Lynch, same would go for Cameron or Patton. Schache is the best option, all assuming our recruiters believe in him.

And all of that ignores the unlikelihood of the Lynch signing even happening.
