Wasn't he on the Dees List a Few Years Back?
He sure was, l think he left Melb about 3 years ago. Had been back playing in the SANFL this year and has been electric, by all reports. Coached by ex pie Matty Lokan.

Trade pick 6 for effort, pick 36 for intensity and pick 54 for competitiveness, we will win most of our games if we have them in our side. The talent and skill ( which we have in spades) is not so important if you have effort and intensity in your team. I viewed a lot of games this year with little intensity from us. With effort and the introduction of speed, we can be Richmond. Trade for Saad and draft two Tom Papley types, don't pick anyone in the team on name, pick them on effort and intensity. It actually ain't that hard.

We've now signed up 2 of our rookies to play next year (Cox, Thomas), presumably to be on the senior list. Assuming we're going to take Tyler Brown as a late pick, we've met our 3 player obligation for this draft. Thoughts on trading our picks in to next year? How much of a risk would you be prepared to take?
Some examples:
Trade 36 to Brisbane for their 3rd next year, take 6 to the draft
Trade 36 to Geelong for their 2nd next year, take 6 to the draft
Trade 6(+maybe 36) to Richmond for 17 + 1st next year
Trade 6(+maybe 36) to Melbourne for 27 + 1st next year
Trade 6 to Hawthorn for their 1st next year
Trade 6 to Adelaide for 16 and their 1st next year
Some are risky, some aren't. Most depend on how strong you see next year's draft compared with this one, weighed against our need to get new players in and developing. I guess the club will make their thoughts more known after the Copeland (Friday) with delistings etc, so might be going a little early here...

How are Carlton gonna get everyone what they gonna trade all there picks in this Years and next years draft
I told you..... Gibbs. Even though they say he's required. I guess the thinking is they get a 1st and a 2nd from Adelaide for Gibbs, use the first to get more players from GWS and then the 2nd for Saad.

Not sure Gibbs is worth more than a 1st rounder at 29 before next season starts.

Why “poor kid”?
Clearly just not good enough.
He did get drafted and had his shot at the big time, just didn’t make the grade. Not the first and definitely not the last.
Plenty of men like Kennedy who now face the realisation that the dream is over.
And most of these men have spent their youth being groomed for AFL stardom.
Told they will make it. Told that they will be champions.
Now the dream is over and that can never be good.
Thankfully clubs do exits a lot better than they did in the past, where it was just "don't come Monday."
I feel for those who have entertained us over their careers and wish them well in the future.

I like this idea mentioned by a poster in one of the earlier pages:

Pies give Lions: 6 and 36 for 12 and 18 (exact same points I believe)
Pies then use 18 for Schache (keeping 12)

I think this is a pretty good deal for the Lions - they lose Schache but move up to 6 from 12 and also get 36

Thoughts?

Lever is certainly a talent with leadership qualities but doubts remain whether he's capable of developing into a genuine KPD.

He lacks a little speed and is not overly strong in the body at present. Most likely he ends up a classier version of Goldsack minus the foot speed.

Still something that is missing so far in the debate is that we are in the age of team zone defence so having multiple players who are excellent readers of the play, have an ability to intercept mark or know when to leave an opponent to create a spoil would seem beneficial to me and a positive in favour of the Lever recruitment.

Of course you need those who can take the opposition gorilla and Lever isn't that (at present) but McLarty might be eventually and in the short term we have Dunn and Reid (Keeffe?).

It seems all the talk around Lever is moot anyway and he'll end up at Melbourne.

He's certainly worth pick 6 but I don't feel we can give away much more than that so soon after the Treloar deal.

Personally I'm quite happy if we look to turn pick 6, 36 into 12+18 from Brisbane or Schache + 18.

Potentially we could then turn pick 18 into 13 if Fasolo requests trade to West Coast.

Stop it. I’m going to cry.
We are talking about the same ben Kennedy aren’t we?
Entertained us over his career? Well maybe once or twice after discarding a green vest.
