We've now signed up 2 of our rookies to play next year (Cox, Thomas), presumably to be on the senior list. Assuming we're going to take Tyler Brown as a late pick, we've met our 3 player obligation for this draft. Thoughts on trading our picks in to next year? How much of a risk would you be prepared to take?
Some examples:
Trade 36 to Brisbane for their 3rd next year, take 6 to the draft
Trade 36 to Geelong for their 2nd next year, take 6 to the draft
Trade 6(+maybe 36) to Richmond for 17 + 1st next year
Trade 6(+maybe 36) to Melbourne for 27 + 1st next year
Trade 6 to Hawthorn for their 1st next year
Trade 6 to Adelaide for 16 and their 1st next year
Some are risky, some aren't. Most depend on how strong you see next year's draft compared with this one, weighed against our need to get new players in and developing. I guess the club will make their thoughts more known after the Copeland (Friday) with delistings etc, so might be going a little early here...
No can do.....We are a club under the pump next year with a coach who is again going to be scrutinised by his every move in 2018. With Richmond winning the flag this year, their coach was able to turn his side around in 12 months, and if we show no or very minimal improvement next year, our club is going to be besieged by negative press again and l dare say Bucks again will be hard pressed to hold his job, as he will be rated against "what Hardwick was able to do, but Buckley hasnt been able to"
We need to trade and draft smartly this upcoming period for next year. We are not in a position as a club to be thinking any further than the 2017 trade and draft period. The list needs improvement now, positions on field need to be covered, and skill deficiencies, like kicking, that need to be improved.
I would be very surprised if we were not active players in this trade period.

I like this idea mentioned by a poster in one of the earlier pages:

Pies give Lions: 6 and 36 for 12 and 18 (exact same points I believe)
Pies then use 18 for Schache (keeping 12)

I think this is a pretty good deal for the Lions - they lose Schache but move up to 6 from 12 and also get 36

Thoughts?
Or we could just skip the 3 Card Monty and swap 6 and 36 for Schache and 12.

So just 6 and 36 for 12 and Schache...

If Connors has said Lever is going to Melbourne, that's where he is going to.
We are not in the race for him
When did Paul Connors say that Lever is and will only go to Melbourne. My understanding is that Lever will be more than happy to be wearing Black and White next year.

Sloane put figjam on his arse.

Its not the first time....lol...Patrick's often regailed us with stories about how he and RS terrorised each other at training and on holidays together. They've always been great mates and their probably the most competitive beasts in the AFL...two bulls in the same paddock!

I can't find any reference to what Connors said. You'd think it'd make the SEN FB page but I don't think it has.
Neither can l, that's why l wrote if. If Connors has said it, l don't know where it was said, only that a poster said he heard it today.

I found the post. Melbourne supporter came in here and said that Connors had spoken on radio and ruled out Collingwood. No other details.
