Lynch is a restricted free agent in 2019 right? So he only leaves if GCFC don't play hard ball and match. I know that rarely, if ever, happens but that could be the first time.
They lose GAJ this year and Lynch next they'll have a pretty handy war chest you'd reckon. I think they'll match whatever offers are made and push for 2x 1st round picks in a trade. They took a lot of top end kids last draft (4x top 10's), will take a few more this year (currently 5x 1st & 2nd round picks) so those kids will take time to demand bigger $$$ contracts, but if they can add more in the 2018 draft they'll start to look a bit like GWS in terms of the talent on their list.

This would be our ideal trade for Watts, I would think:

Collingwood lose: Pick 6, 2nd rounder 2018 and pick 36(maybe).
Collingwood gain: Pick 10, Melbourne's first round pick next year and Watts.

Melbourne lose: Pick 10, Next year's first pick and Watts.
Melbourne gain: Pick 6, Collingwood's 2nd rounder 2018 and pick 36(maybe).

That sets us up well for next year, If Lynch decides to nominates us.
We would have 2 first round picks, and worst case scenario we have 2 first round picks in a "super draft".
But because next year is a super draft I doubt melbourne are giving us their first to upgrade a pick this year

I understand, but I think they would rather give us their next year's first pick and get a 2nd in return. Considering Adelaide just want 2 first rounders and no return.

Essentially they could end up with 2 picks in the top 30.

I do agree we should be looking to get two picks in next years first round, with the KPP talent a lot better next year. If we keep our pick 6 we'll be looking at a brander, balta or Hayes as KPP options. A perfect trade period for us in my opinion is:

Saad and 2018 first rounder for Pick 6 and 2018 second rounder

Michael Talia (SYD) as a DFA

Michael Close (Bris) as a FA

Harley Balic (FREO) for Pick 41

Jono Freeman (Bris) as a DFA

So we lose: pick 6, 2018 2nd, pick 41
Gain: Saad, GCS 2018 1st, Talia, Close, Balic, Freeman

GCS 2018 1st will likely be pick 1, doubt they will part with it haha

Close and Freeman are terrible been in the system for ages and have done nothing

Easy to say you wouldn't swap him now but Curnow will be a better player. Treloar has been an underwhelming recruit[/QUOT

Is there anything the club do or **** have ever done that your happy about. If i was as dark on the job as you id definetly follow a different team.

Watts could thrive. Way to much baggage at Melbourne since day 1. Id turn him into a key defender possibly.

I'm still unsure if he would make it but honestly if he is cheap and could play a back roll then it may be a massive score. Even as a swing man.

A bit harsh. Runner up in our B&F in his first year at the club and fairly strong this year. Second best player behind Pendlebury at Collingwood. More than handy and I think he can get better.
