MMM reported last week that GWS as it stands now will be over $1m over the salary cap for next year. A mate who is aligned with GWS indicated to me that if a team gave the tree a shake you would be surprised what may fall out for the right deal. I like 3 of their players (names keep popping up...) who starred against the Swans yesterday
Cameron 14 disposals; 10 contested; 4 marks; 2 tackles; 4 I50's; 2 goals; 270m gained
Shiel 23 disposals; 9 contested; 3 marks; 4 tackles; 9 I50's; 6 clearances; 5 stoppages; 2 goal assists; 401m gained
Tomlinson 21 disposals; 10 contested; 7 marks; 1 tackle; 5 I50's; 3 clearances; 2 stoppages; 321m gained
Cameron’s the one, fits a need for us. Second would be Tomlinson, but not warranted if we’re getting May. Treloar,Adams & WHE need to get to work and get in his ear.

Yeah good question, what would be the trade value? If we were happy to pay Lynch $1M, I'd happily pay that to Cameron.
But could we get the trade done?
First pick this year and say Fasolo is unders. Would it be 2 first rounders? Perhaps.
Would Moore be involved here (I hope not).

Stupidest rumour to come into a opposition board with l have seen. DeGoey just played in a final, and preparing to play in another next week. Why would he even remotely entertain the idea of going to a club that struggles to get past 17th on the ladder, with years of gloom ahead.
You also want to pass of your garbage like Liam Jones? No thanks, l think Liam is more a Carlton list fit, then ours.
and Struggle to win 1 Game

Mate who is involved there was talking about some Victorians, the club knows are interested in "coming home" in the next few years, but because of severe salary cap constraints, the club would consider offers now. Cameron is the highest paid at the club and refused to take lesser money some years ago or renegotiate to keep everyone at the club. All others took lesser pay. Shiel took unders, but is still on significant pay and Scully's pay was cut in half. This is what happens when you have a playing list of Top 15 draft picks. Coniglio wasn't mentioned..is he Victorian?, Whitfield loves it there. I am sorry Scully was the other mentioned but I overlooked him in my earlier. He is 28 next year. Broke his ankle earlier this year. They were initially hoping he would make it back for finals but ankle continues swelling with any prolong weight bearing. Has two years left on a contract. They also want salary cap space for Kelly next year, who they see as a future captain.
Coniglio is from WA. Should look at anyone we think would improve our 22. I’d take a classy mid with pace. Look at what Wells did for us last year when fit

Well last night proved we needed a key tall to stand up and help Mihocek, satisfying Giants would be the big problem, since we seem committed to getting May.

Coniglio is from WA I believe. If we could shake Cameron loose it would be ideal, but I don’t see how we could possibly get a deal done.

I know we aren't getting Lynch, but geez I'd love to have a genuine superstar forward. I don't think we have had one in a long time. I suppose you can argue Cloke was, but he was so up and down and unreliable, I don't count him. Having a Buddy, Kennedy, Brown, would be quite the luxury.

I also felt out Mids got smashed last night in the last quarter.
Treloar probably underdone,
Sier ran out of steam,
Adams was good but that head knock may not have helped,
Sidey was great,
Pendles was pretty poor,
Phillip got the ball a bit but wasn't influential at all,
De Goey played forward and was generally poor all game.

Do we need another mid to help out?
We have one of the deepest strongest midfields in the comp. I don't wanna see us spend too much more money there.

I reckon we need to free up some cap space and bolster our key fwd/def stocks.
If we could get Cameron from the GWS that would be ideal.
I'd be trading/delisting

I would trade degoey for lukosius in a heart beat. What did he do last night?!
Lukosius I’d guess just watched the game on tv.

So you would give up a powerful beast who is proven, for the latest new toy who is unproven?
That’s an interesting strategy.

(I would agree Lukosius is very likely to be a star.)
