Except they won't lose him for "nothing"
They are finishing bottom 2 and will either get pick 2 or 3 for him.
I think the early pick as compensation depends on age and payments; you probably right he’s in that category but I’d think not close to Lynch payments?

Oh it’s the AFL integrity so they’ll definitely give them the low pick.

He's reportedly on 800-850K now.
Where ever he ends up, this year or next.. will be a 4 year deal on 700k minimum.

Only needs around 600-650K/4 years to trigger Band 1 compo.

You’re spot on with those numbers.
Gee, he gets a bit of dough.

Yes you’re right they’ll get the high compo.

If Collingwood want May it won’t come cheap but equally the Suns want to rebuild now and Dew wants a reset. Hopeful we get May but all not lost if don’t as happy to keep our first rounder and then land another one for Moore. I’d then roll them up and try and get in top 6-7 picks. Top 7 in this draft are v good.

Snoop do you have a choice for the very First pick in the draft?
I understand Lukosius is all the rage but there is a view to a free others.
I’d love Lukosius on what I’ve heard ie Nick Riewoldt but even bettter kick (I dribble at that prospect..,,)

And assuming our first pick is higher teens who might we get realistically?
This guy with the hyphen Collier-Dawkins? Could we get him and how good would it be?

Absolutely night and day when comparing them to GWS.

GWS are fantastic to watch, group of young talented young men who have meshed together very well.

Watching GC is like watching the Bombers when they had that year of top up players due to the ASADA suspensions.

If we lost Moore, I’d prefer if we didn’t acquire May. I’d try and swap our 2 first round picks for a top 10 pick.

If not, we try and acquire 2 guns with our 2 first picks.

I hope we have 2 picks between 10-15. There’s always players who slide in the draft and turn out to be guns.

Plus, we can always acquire cheap State league KPP’s. The key to playing KPP is understanding your role. The perfect example is Goldsack and Mihocek. Goldsack understood he had to nullify Kennedy. Mihocek has the flexibility to play forward and back. KPP with experience is the key.

I am in the Jack camp. He is a very special player. At the same age he actually reminds me a bit more of a Jack watts to be honest......but better. Jack had pretty well only played private school a bit of TAC whereas Jack has been exposed to men and performed really well. He offers so much versatility as well. Can play forward / back and wing. Elite ball user. Tremendous prospect.

Personally mate I dont think we will end up with that pick. I reckon Pies at some stage will trade it, be it through trade period or on the night. Quaynor and Kelly are finishing their seasons strongly and outside of that top 7 or so I think its conceivable one of those two will get called pre say pick 16-20. If thats the case then they have to trade it or move it up the board by pairing it with another selection. If Moore goes and we dont get May (bc Suns want to get another high compo next year) I think they will push for the latter.

To answer your question around who would I take i think you do have to look a little at needs. We have Quaynor coming and Kelly so you have a small and tall back.

Key forward, midfield class are probably the other areas. I dont think we need an inside mid but this years draft is littered with them in that 7 - 30 band and Collier-Dawkins is one. Few names for you and have put them in order;

Connor Rozee - probably the one am hoping for as oozes class but cant see him making it to us. Think he will go around 10-12

Liam Stocker - Been a big fan of him all year. Inj when Nationals were on but a clearance machine and uses it well. More inside than out but am keen to see him in the All Star game as if can demonstrate he can hurt on outside in a game like that then I think he could rise. Chance gone before our pick.

Ely Smith - Lot of people won't have him as high as me but I rate him. Game on the weekend was really good. Been mostly inside as a player but demonstrated on weekend he could play outside and showed some speed and class. He played with the VFL side this year.

Xavier Duursma - Grown on me all year and think if want a player with speed, class, skill then he is your man. never seen him play poorly and did well in big games. His skill level is something that stands out for me in a year where I think the skill level of a lot of them isn't that great.

Bailey Williams - I haven't been on him all year but he has turned me around. His footy lately has been really good and his forward craft / leading patterns have been impressive. If there, and good chance is, I would be very tempted. Have him around 12-18 range

Ned McHendry - Falcons player who is real spirit player. Very hard at it and probably presents more as a small / medium forward at AFL level but has played mid at TAC and goes well. Was good when the class stepped up at champs and good in TAC finals as well. Does a lot of stuff well. I rate him.

Curtis Taylor - Calder kid who is really on and off but gee his best footy is just sublime. He does things that really stand out and whilst is a HF there is a view he can go into the middle. On talent you take this kid but i think he is one where the interview process / the testing and talking to those around him are going to be important. Look for him in the All Star game. Will be important for him.

Riley Collier - Dawkins - tall inside mid who is terrific inside the contest and very quick hands. Has shown can go forward and foot skills fine. The knock is very inconsistent.

Jordan Clark - Love this kid from WA. One of the class players of the Champs and has just got better and better. Every chance can push up to midfield group and if could be convinced of that I'd take him. If just a HB type then leave as have Isaac coming.

It’s going to depend on where our list management team sees our list at. If they feel our window is opening then we need another decent key defender especially if Moore goes, because this is one area that we have been exposed in especially since Dunn has gone down. And if we want one that is in contract then we may well have to pay a higher price as enforcing a contract by making a player stay and see it out is the only power clubs have in player movement (which is something I think should be corrected if players want more free agency concessions such as earlier trigger and it carry over from club to club).

If on the other hand they feel that this year is an anomaly brought about by the inequities of the draw then perhaps we need to be more patient and go back to the draft. Just remember though a drafted KPP is unlikely to be ready to go next year.
Totally agree. As much as i enjoy seeing us top 4, i think the draw had plenty to do with it. All up i still think we are 2 KPD's 1 KPF and 1 top mid short . As much as i want it to be, Cox is not the answer up FWD .

I just listened to Liam Pickering on SEN Breakfast. Very quickly swatted down speculation about Wells not playing on next year. It almost sounded like Pickering and Wells put the club to the sword on that.

It's also getting very tiring to hear him say "we're working through that" in regards to Darcy Moore's contract.

Connor Rozee’s form in the SNAFL the last couple of weeks has been outstanding. Would love to magically get him.

If Elliot & Fasolo leave this year, which I’m starting to think is likely. I don’t think Elliot has signed as of yet.
I think we should Menogola from the Cats. I think he would be the ideal replacement for De GOEY in the forward line. He could rotate with De Goey through the midfield. He would get the recognition he deserves. Fantastic player. Allows Cats to free up some cap space.
Menagola would be great. But he is one of those mid tier players that gets the job done so I can't see the Cats moving him on willingly.

Couldn’t see the harm as a rookie. He’s a gun, if his knees weren’t so bad he’d still be at Hawthorn imo.
Yeah agreed. He probably would have been one of their top line mids too.

Don Melisi always rated him highly so I’m half expecting it to happen one day :p

Would love to take a gamble on Alex Woodward. Polled 16 votes in 8 games to finish second in the VFL BnF. That’s pretty amazing. Way too good for that level.
7, actually (his 8th game was the final). Which just underlines the achievement.

Had we not rested him against Frankston in Round 20, he would most likely have polled another 3 and made it a three-way tie.

But what I love about last night is the Richmond supporters who reckon Miles was robbed of an outright win and that Gibbons is shit...
