What do you guys think about Hugh Goddard as a delisted free agent? KPD, high 2nd round draft pick and showed a bit early on. Still early days into his career, but seems to be a injury prone player which which we have a lot of. But could be worth the risk considering Dunn and Scharenberg are out for a while?

Was a highly rated junior, was tipped to be in 1st round contention going into his draft. Has had a shocking run with injury since so I guess that begs the question, 1. is he over his injuries; and 2. have the injuries impacted those traits which made him an attractive junior (ie: pace, leap, attack on the footy)?

We should not under any circumstances be bringing in any known injury prone players.
I disagree.
I have no problem with underpaying for someone if we scout them properly and think they have potential - it could basically be a free hit. Someone like H. Goddard could be that with a rookie spot or as a delisted signing.
What I wouldn't do is overpay for anyone in that situation (and that includes our own big name guys).

Certainly not averse to offering an injury prone player a short term deal as a delisted FA if he's still seen as a worthy addition to the squad and there's potential for those issue to be behind him. Don't know enough about Goddard to know if he fits that bill.

I just listened to Liam Pickering on SEN Breakfast. Very quickly swatted down speculation about Wells not playing on next year. It almost sounded like Pickering and Wells put the club to the sword on that.

It's also getting very tiring to hear him say "we're working through that" in regards to Darcy Moore's contract.
Heard Pickers say two months ago that Wells wanted to play on next year.

Wasn't WHE injury prone when at GWS?
I agree with Kirby. But i'd make an exception for GWS and GC players because their ability to keep players on the field is so bad it's tragic. I think it reflects poorly on their fitness and medical team more than anything.

I'd say pace is still a real need. Not sure Rohan is the best option to address that but it's still a need. Losing Murray compounds that need. Hopefully we can add A2B2 from our NGA as he apparently has pace to burn.
Yep. Pace is required. Varcoe isn't getting younger. Murray looks like he's out the door or at least won't be available for a long time. Pace at half back and wing would be very handy

Already have enough Rohan type players anyway
I agree...but its like its the end of the night and every body has their beer goggles on and everybody looks attractive and you want to take him/her home anyway, even though you know that you will have to chew your own arm off to escape in the morning. We do not need anymore injury prone players!!!!

Pace is no good if you can't utilise it to help the side though, which is Rohan's problem.
Any additional pace would be lovely, Rohan definitely isn't the answer though.

Would consider replacing Murray with Jayden Hunt if he was available. Both similar attributes, both needing to work on certain aspects.
