Why?

Did you know Shazza would do another ACL?
Haha, how did I know you would chime in? It's pretty clear isn't it? I think Langdon is a considerably better player and defender than Scharenberg. As I've said a million times, Scharenberg will need to be a key defender because he is not athletic or fast enough to play on smalls or medium sized. That's my opinion.

We get it you think Langdon is a gun but its interesting to me anyway what the Club thinks.

Ned Guy wont be getting sucked in by bigfooty posters rating of Tom.

If Scott Lucas or Tom L are not happy with OUR Clubs offer then they know what to do.

How about Adam Simpson and Nathan Buckley's rating of him? You can't even concede now that Langdon is a very good player? Does it actually annoy you that he played that well?

Ned Guy has no history for us to work with. Could be a complete flop. Hasn't really done anything good so far, so there should be far more question marks on him than on Langdon. I mean didn't he resign Reid mid year? What kind of decision is that?

You went on a tangent again and made it about me.

He stays he stays.....he doesn't he doesn't.

I follow the jumper mate first and foremost.

Anyone else's head explode after reading that Tweet?

100% staying
Not likely to stay
He is staying

What a bloody rollercoaster
It’s poorly written.

It was said like this:

100% staying. Not “likely to stay”. He IS staying.

Or instead maybe you can just acknowledge you were wrong about Langdon and he is a good player and then we can call a truce? If you truly supported the jumper you would have supported Langdon a lot more while he was wearing it.

I don't think he has the height to be a key defender. I sort of agree about Langdon. Anyone who produces top football in finals is worth keeping.

I have a sneaking suspicion that’s stuff clubs sell to their supporters.

Sure players take a cut but in reality how much is the cut? $10k $20k or so, maybe $30k pa.

No way they taking mega hits.
You think players are saying to their wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, “hey honey I’m dropping my salary by $100k”
That will go down well, not!

Managers won’t cop huge whacks, no way.

That’s my take anyway.

Supporters lap that stuff up, does not make it so.

(All my view ofcourse)
I think it's more of a "the club is offering me another year, but it's on 200k less than my current remaining years" and the wives/girlfriends/boyfriends thinking 'you'll be getting to the end of your career and there's nothing to say you'll be even best 22 then' and taking it.

Reality is that a 400-600k contract - as opposed to say 700-800k, is still an incredible wage when in comparison to what their spouse is probably earning working a 9-5 or for looking pretty.

You're going off topic and getting offended over nothing.

P.S Find my quote about Langdon that was wrong and has offended you so much when you get a chance.

Well the trade period hasn't really started and this is technically the first year he's in charge of the list. He resigned JDG with rival 'godfather' offers and Moore too now as well. We've constantly been linked to Lynch and May all year. I'm sure he's got something up his sleeve. Wait till next week!

With Reid, he only got resigned on a 1 year deal. Considering our KPP stocks and injuries at the moment, was a priority signature.

I would urge anyone.. if you plan on celebrating the signing of Moore by purchasing a bottle of La Nuit De L'Homme.. there are different versions of the shit.. EU de toilette.. l'intense.. and parfum..

Go with the original and the best..
EU de toilette re. I know.. I will.

Glad to help.

There was an article in The Age earlier this year (I am trying to locate it on-line) concerned about how Richmond's top 5-6 players take up a large percentage of their salary cap and if they were to land Lynch it would push them near -40% of their salary cap (They were surmising on players contracts) with 40 players making up the remaining 60-65%. They indicated that if Lynch did come on board there would be a group of players making way
Makes sense, if you have a large number of players sharing that residual 60-65% then you need to delist more to free up the cash needed. Conversely though, they still need to maintain a list of 44 players and there's less gain in replacing a listed player with a draftee.

Confident Langdon will stay, just needs to be shown some love form the club. Crazy to think he has played pretty much every senior game when fit and we still signed up people like Varcoe and Ben Reid before him.

I know Ive had the argument around here a million times and a lot disagree, but the sensible list management decision would have been to lock in Langdon well before Scharenberg too.
I'm not overly fussed about the timing of offers but it appears from Lucas's comments that Ned hasn't been having the "we love your player and we want to sign him but we just don't know how much freedom we've got in the TPP at this stage" conversation with his manager which surprises me. It's not that hard to maintain open dialogue. Unless of course they weren't committed to retaining him.
