I would have it the other way around.

Moore 10-15 range based upon potential and rarity (200cm person versus 189cm Lagdon)
Langdon 25 - 35 range

MM I don't get. He is a 190cm forward. Not tall or dominant enough (think Fev @ 191cm) to build a forward line around. For mine MM is a 20-30 pick range.
That's what we're saying to them, but they keep comparing him to his brother and think he's going to be exactly the same.
we have pk 24 & 25 which equates to pk8 points wise. They dismiss that option.
Would those picks interest you???

Just interested in how you guys value Moore and Langdon, pick wise.
cheers
Langdon probably a late 1st early 2nd after his brilliant finals series.

Moore is tricky, talent wise he could be top 3 but due to his injuries probably a mid/late 1st.

Personally I wouldn't want to see either go at the valuations above.

Even after the finals series, I'm still a bit meh about Langdon. Think he has potential but I still feel Shaz and Maynard are better players to play down back.

Shaz - Dunn - Maynard
Crisp - Moore - Howe

That's my ideal backline. If we could get a 1st rounder for Langdon I would take it every day of the week, particularly if it would help us bring in McGovern or May.

Interesting how people rate players.

To me it actually comes down to what picks are actually in play and how far out the door the said player is.

If a club really really want a player they have to pay over the odds;

We want to really get rid of a player then you take what you get;

So a player like Moore, size scope athletic ability some shown glimpses a club better pay an absolute stack or forget it we keep him.

Talls like that don’t grow on trees and if they want him they better pay up.

I reckon we'll get May.
Are you ok with losing Langdon to make it happen? With Moore’s signature imminent the only way we can afford May is to lose Langdon.

My gut feel is that May hasn’t announced his intentions because he doesn’t know whether we can make it happen. IMO, May to Melbourne has been strung together by the media.

Thats a handy backline , I would have Langdon as the 7th defender.

I don't think Langdon is asking for that much more $$$

It'll be for our first this year and next and maybe a swap of other picks.

Agreed there are various different things to factor in:
- Player wants to leave / stay?
- Player contract status?
- Player wage?
- Off field baggage?
- List need or overload?
- Are similar replacements available (external)?
- Club salary cap space?
- Club needs resources to facilitate another trade?
- Compassionate grounds?
- Injury history?

It all gets very complex if you factor in everything.

I got the opposite impression but there you go.
Thats fair enough.

I guess my impression from reporting had been that there was a contract offer, just well below what Langdon felt he was worth.
---

In reality we don't know the figures, and dont know what to take from reports until a contract (or trade) is done.

So we lose Langdon and gain Langdon - you couldn't write this shite! Well, AFL journos write all sorts of shite this time of year.
the chances of trading Tom Langdon and gaining Ed Langdon would be around 0.00156 % I reckon

If we lost Moore and Langdon along with Fasolo and picked up May, Finlayson and Langdon I'd be okay with that. Still don't want to lose Moore and Langdon but if they are looking for coin and a move the replacements I'd be happy with.

Of-course there isn't a hope this will happen looking at our previous years during trade week.

im interested because Crows fans seem adamant that MM is a 1st rd in 5-15 range and I would say Langdon in particular has shown more.
Would a mid 1st get Langdon, mid 2nd Moore?
I think both are interesting.
Prior to the finals series, I would've thought 2nd rounder for Langdon. But with his recent performances, he's got his name out there enough that his price might be at its peak. If a rival wants him - it might well take that mid 1st rounder to do it.

As for Moore - it's very much a case of attributes/potential/position/"name" over actual performances.
On performance to date and injury history, you'd say a 2nd rounder is all it would take. But if we were only talking about those 2 attributes, then clubs wouldn't want him, and he wouldn't have anywhere near the buzz that is around him.
You look at the kind of salaries being rumoured - this isnt a talent that you're gonna get for a 2nd round pick.
If he wants to leave, I reckon the club would ask for two 1st rounders - and it would probably accept either a top 8 pick, or a mid 1st rounder plus a 2nd. I don't see the club accepting less than that.

What would you accept for Weitering? What would the Dons accept for Daniher?

Key Position
May should be #1 on our list.
If we can't get May, hit GWS for Finlayson or Tomlinson or both. Hombsch from Port.

Scully from GWS
