There are no other teams.
Cox can’t ruck a game by himself. Needs back up and I don’t have the greatest faith in the other two.

Let’s just get Moore on the park first.

Lynch unknown. Pretty tough for him to come in and play competitive ruck straight up. Probably needs another year in the VFL so we can tell.
Grigg?

I was literally shot down and made to look like an idiot two days ago when I suggested Langdon or Mihocek might leave, if Moore stays. Due to us probably having to fork out some extra money.

48 hours later, it turns into a possibility.

“while another McConville client Brody Mihocek has a two-year deal in front of him but with a modest financial return.”

Langdons getting serious offers from rival clubs.

BigFooty will never change.
But they all will stay.

Patience grasshopper:)

You have to balance any direct comparisons with the fact that Melbourne were an absolute and total rabbble in every way imaginable during Howe's stint at the club.

While Langdon is a decent player he will never be as good as Howe at their respective peaks I suspect, due largely to the glaring deficiencies in his intensity and decisionn making / ball use which, for all his good work during the finals, are still well and truly there.
You can make as many predictions as you like, but the knocks on Langdon you’ve listed were exactly what the knocks on Howe were at the same age, but coupled with also being wildly inconsistent.
At the end of the day, it’s your opinion, and you’re welcome to it, but on current trajectory based on performances at the same age Langdon is well ahead of Howe, and tracking to be at least as good or better at his peak in terms of intercept capability. The only area that Howe will have the edge is kicking and decision making.

Did you skip over the bit about Melbourne being an absolute rabble of a club in every way imaginable during Howe's time there?

Interesting that both Moore and Langdon (who knew, no need to panic?) essentially might mean no May?

So in essence we'll be fairly in-active this trade period.

We're fairly seriously banking on Moore/the club getting his body right, as our lack of KPP quality is still of a concern.

Might Work out Better as May's Trade Price be Steep

I find it ridiculous that keeping more and Langdon counts is out on May , beams or whoever from a salary cap point of view. Unless they are referring to suitable trade options.

Who cares. Langdon played great football when it most counted and should be worth a late first round draft pick. I would love to get May and I am not convinced that Moore is going to overcome his hamstring problems and become a reliable KPP. Nevertheless, I don't want us giving up 2 first round draft picks in this draft for May and would prefer to take a risk on Moore and lock in Langdon for several more years. I respect anyone able to produce their best football in a finals' series, particularly a GF. If loyalty is worth anything in this age of opportunistic trading and recruitment, Langdon has earned a reasonable deal from the club.

You might wanna read my posts on May from a while ago. Didn't think we needed him. Sufficient enough down back. And my prediction that Langdon will be our most important player in the GF re.. they don't call me the Oracle for nothing re..

Could take you under my wing.. but spiritualism is not something you can teach someone re.
