I know that there’s been reports we’re interested, I was the one who posted it first in this thread. Our trade currency vs any other clubs should be irrelevant, the aim is to get Howard to nominate us, then any other trade offers from rival clubs become irrelevant. Reports are that Howard has talked to Essendon, North and St Kilda. The only thing that’s been said about us is that we’ve made an ‘enquiry’. We’re far and away the most attractive destination of those clubs he’s met with, and he would walk in to our 22. We should be the front runners for him but it feels like we aren’t even in the conversation...

Trading Sidebottom means no flag = basically conceding a rebuild, no thanks. I'd like to keep our elite players at the club.

I think Sidey is our most tradeale player, the best player we can afford to trade, I do not see him commanding enough to make it a viable strategy or Sidey being keen to go somewhere like GC. No piont trading Sidey for less than real value, veyr ealry pick or player that solves a weakness, I think he satys but if the right deal came up.

If he does leave I just hope that the contract he accepts triggers the best possible compo we could expect for him under FA (4 years, good $) Likely to be another 2nd round pick this year. Not really market value but what can you do if he wants out as an URFA.

In all this talk about Elliott leaving,has there ever been any suggestion that he was unhappy at the club and wanted to leave?i certainly haven’t seen any.If he was ever going to leave the club it would have been at the end of last year when he was out of contract and he had just missed playing the entire season.It doesn’t really make any sense for him to leave now that he’s started to get his body right and is playing some good football again.
