If it was to be false, there would probably be a one off twitter post from one journo and wait for it to marinate until club or player comes out and stop the nonsense rumour. Yes, its been one day so probably have to wait a couple days but when multiple reporters start talking about it there must be some truth to it and Tom Browne’s made multiple posts on his twitter today.

Help me understand what gets more reaction, using language such as “forced out” or “ assisting AT find a new club to accommodate his changed personal circumstances”.
Reporters need reactions and know that bad news works.

Treloar was 2 first rounders with a second going back, and he's much better now than he was then.

As much as I'd enjoy getting a first and a future first from GCS, and giving them back a second rounder, there's every chance next year will get swallowed up by Nick Daicos anyway.

Absolutely being younger De Goey's future looked brighter than Caddy's. His time horizon for peak performance is longer as a result.

In the short term though, if Caddy was added to the list and replaced De Goey directly. I'd expect similar output, with Caddy only dropping away since 2018 due to not playing where he plays best. I feel like Caddy as a forward again would be able to play similar if not a little better than De Goey has these past two years.

I'm not saying replace De Goey, but my point with Caddy is that if ever De Goey wants out or needs to be moved, Caddy is an optimal and undervalued replacement who really while 3 1/2 years older plays the same game and offers the front half much the same dynamic as that medium marking forward with some rare power and 1v1 marking strength.

A bid on Jamarra will happen inside the top-5 certainly. But that doesn't impact anything.

Adelaide take either McDonald/Thilthorp. North take the other. Sydney probably take one of Hollands or Denver, with Hawthorn probably taking that leftover of the two. Then pick 5 with Gold Coast on the clock with Phillips expected to be there. Only Hawthorn is any chance to take Phillips, but within the industry it seems most have him a little behind those other guys. My feel is 80% chance Phillips is there if I'm to predict today.

That's why I've brought up Treloar for 5 + something. If Will Brodie and pick 24 can be had. That's very similar to the original trade of Dayne Beams from Collingwood. With Treloar not coming off that same quality of season and being older than Beams was at the same age though, 5 and W.Brodie is more-so around the mark I would have thought if we're talking fair value.

And a move of Treloar absolutely opens salary cap room. It will be interesting to hear how a Collingwood conversation with Treloar goes down and whether trade negotiations begin soon. I'm thinking they will. Treloar is a family guy and would I'd imagine want to be with his family if it could be achieved, I would have thought, even if he is keeping that narrative quiet publicly, perhaps so that Collingwood during the trade period can play it as Adam doesn't mind getting traded but only if it's the right deal sort of thing for Collingwood.

Its dissapointing that we paid so much for a player and this is happening.

I am honestly OK with trading Treloar for a top draft pick if we're keeping it, but if it's just to send over to another club for Gunston or Ben Brown or some other player around 30 years old, I'll be pretty pissed off

We can do a mini rebuild, load up on high draft picks (+ McInnes and Daicos) and push in 2-4 years, with a strong core group of players still under 30-31. Adams, Grundy, Maynard, Moore, Checkers, Stevo, De Goey, Quaynor, Josh Daics, etc

Quick note on rendell / recruiting. Reckon that while Rendell has football smarts, Hine in the relationships guy - and has nailed some talent spotting decisions - Pendles, De Goey, Beams, Steele, Maynard, Noble, Mihocek. But for Rendell to go and Hine retained, can’t help thinking that Hine’s constant Time & background work on young players will be hoped can deliver a Logan McDonald type trade one day, no matter where he originally ends up...
