Trade Fev

Fev had a year off the grog when his wife was pregnant, and had the best year of his career. He will be off the turps for the rest of the season and kick 60 or 70 goals.
You just don't trade players like him!!

You're right, he was awesome that year. But why did he get back on the booze if obviously plays better without it? It's all about priorities in life and last year he must have decided against footy being the number one priority.
He may stay off it this year but how do we know? The clause is if he has any more alcohol caused issues he'll be sacked. That doesn't mean he can't and won't drink...

Some players just don't have their heart in it 100%. Personally I'd rather get drunk and hit the town than play a football game. It's their occupation and they have to do it to make an income. Doesn't mean they enjoy it.

Again, the club shouldn't have to resort to drastic measures for Fev to pull his head on. Perhaps not this year, but I bet we see Fevola in the papers again for all of the wrong reasons - off field that is.

starting threads re trading players after rnd 1 is moronic.

STFU for now and come back in Oct when its trade time

Well, if Fevola didn't behave like this, then there wouldn't be a problem. Fact is, he does, and why shouldn't we discuss it?

Disgraceful that supporters are even talking about this issue after Round 1 for starters.

Secondly, trade him, sure great idea. We get more high draft picks, and god knows we need some more of them. Even after all the crap they put the young draftee's through these days, there are still plenty of players who get picked in the 1st round who simply aren't good enough. A risk worth taking for losing without doubt the best FF in the game? No.

And this talk of Fish, Cloke, Edwards and co. being able to kick enough goals for Carlton to win games is a joke. Sure their good/ will be good players, but thats thanks largely to Fevola drawing so much attention away from our other forwards it allows to them slip under the radar.

Focus on the football, leave the politics for October.

It's not every Round 1 a footballer gets an ultimatum like that

No, no, no, no, no.

Fevola is an amazing football player. The only real times where he is a complete d*ckhead are when he is on the grog. Minus the alcohol and we have a fit, firing Fevola.

Because March is not the time...........he may kick 110 and stay completely off the piss or he may kick 50 and get caught dropping a **** off the Bolte bridge at 3am the night b4 a game.

There is really no point talking about it now when it is the way he carries himself for the rest of the season that counts most

Yeah lets trade the only match winning full forward we have...there are so many of them running around out there that i'm sure we can draft another one ..if not we can grab a future Coleman medalist from the draft ..they are a cinch to find .

Fev is Fev we know what he's like...he's on his last warning....later in the year he will win yet another game off his own boot and we will see threads singing his praises .

It's round one ffs

Fev is a gun, there is no doubt about that, but the guy is a headcase. The best thing he could do this year is go out and kick a few goals, get some value back and then we bite the bullet and trade him off.

Our biggest issue isn't our forward line, our biggest issue is our backline. WHy don't carlton try and do a deal with someone to get a decent backman. Someone like Ben Rutten should be high on the shopping list.

Just as Lynch from West Coast has shown, if a club can get the ball down forward enough, any idiot can kick a goal.

Jarrod Waite could easily fill the hole left by Fev anyway, the guy is a freak show, just need to teach him to kick a little straighter.

AFL Football is not like some last resort factory job. You work for years to play because you love the game and it's what you want to do. You don't study Law just so you can go out and be a doctor, do you?

Well, unless you need to defend your own mistakes on the operating table:p.

As I said, he is 27 now, and he still doesn't get it. Trade him at years end whilst he still has some value.

There are valid arguments for both keeping him and cutting our losses with Fev, but to get any real value for him we needed to trade him last season with him still being under contract.

The Bulldogs might have given us a bit for him:eek:.

I'll trade him for either Brown, Riewoldt or Pavlich.

Otherwise we'd only get some young draftees who will take 3-4 years to develop. And spend the next 3-4 down the bottom.

I think if fev can pull his finger out then we will be in a much better postion then if we trade him. Howver if he keeps up his stupid antics the Board and Carlton will be a laughing stock for letting someone get away again and again.

im just glad greg swann has dragged fevs head onto the chopping block.
It's the perfect scenario for fev and everybody involved including
supporters.
You're either part of the solution or part of the problem.
Whether or not Fev has enough brain cells to process the information
and realise that he still has two paths is the absolute key.
Hero or zero...
and the clock is ticking for real.

You've got it wrong.

We're not bagging his ability nor his game on Thursday. He played ok the other night and I'm sure he'll have many more which we'll be loving whether we hate him or not.

The point of the thread is his attitude and whether it will improve. We all know his ability. The discussion is to cut our losses or stick with him.
