So has Teflon worn everyone down yet to the point where it's consensus that Lever should be our #1 target, or is it still a work-in-progress? :p
I want to see the heat map of this thread to see how much Lever is getting mentioned, and compare it to a heat map of our Hopper/inside midfielder discussions.

**** - if we don't get him and he ends up at the Dees or dogs or ******* Collingwood ffs, it will come back to haunt us one day no doubt. I don't just think one day either - 2-3 days in a row down the track if he keeps projecting the way he is.

I'd want us to give him our best offer (Jobe's contract would do +2yrs) unless he nominates us
What would we trade for him? You talk getting him everyday. Can't recall you ever putting a deal on the table

For every post about Lever there's been 3 screaming Hopper so..I got the sum for you mate do the math

If he nominates us, which is the only way he gets here and I think Adelaide's getting more nervous with every interview Woosha is pumping him up.

I'd offer our 1st - if they want more I'd throw in Redman pretty happily.

Yeah, I like the look of Ridley. Still early days but just looks to be a bit more switched on.

Redman is an interesting one. I think he will make it but still not sure in what position. Some have suggested he could replace Baggers when he's done but I don't think he can scramble like Baggers and wont be able to keep up with the truly nippy small forwards.
Still think he is a winger
Good for Colyer's spot.
May seem odd given he's played hff and hbf mostly, but could find a balance between the two roles on a wing

I agree.

The couple of games he got in his debut season he showed a good reading of the play and his straight line speed is probably not as fast as Colyers but he's more aggressive in attacking the ball and the man.

If you think getting Lever is just getting another "tall defender" there's no point even talking to me about it!

He's absolutely the complete package and would do wonders for a young backline and grow alongside guns likely be a leader of a massive Melbourne club with his defensive mentor at the helm.

It would be huge for us. We can go get inside mids anytime we like, from anywhere - the draft, value like Kennedy, Webb, Balic. Players we already have on the list - you can't teach what he's got.

John obviously rates him extremely highly and I assume he believes he would suit our game as much as I do, because it's fairly blatant for mine.

We'd be lucky to have him, someone needs to pump him up in here since we've been linked it might as well be me because you blokes aren't helping the cause
If we were sitting here talking about the complete package in a young midfielder that was absolutely attainable, would you be all over say, a Brad Crouch? Luke Parker? Dom Sheed?

Think you are caught up in Lever being gettable who has runs on the board.

You're right? It would read Out: Lever In: Hartley

and with the talls already in the side the structure could be manipulated pretty easily to suit any situation anyway - which is what we're building towards already.

Brown and Dea are not apart of our future.
But Howlett anf Bird are?

That Ambrose is better?
Mate we brought in Dea in place of him for one thing - to attack the ball in the air.

He'll be playing on a taller opponent, not a Betts or the like.

It's basically up to Jake whether or not he chooses us and even leaves Adelaide.

The wall has been written all over for Hartley with that call.

"Rubbish stubbornness" what a strange and oddly embarrassing thing for you to say

Last part is what would make him such a perfect replacement.

I don't think he is Baggers replacement.

More of a winger for mine. He has straightline speed and is agile but not nearly enough to play on the really smart small forwards IMO.

I was talking about the ability, or inability, of Baguley to keep up with nippy small forwards.

Yeah, I disagree.

A lot gets said about Baggers but he beats his opponent far more than he loses.

Will be just as important next year due to not having a replacement.
