Devon Smith and Scott Selwood too.

Their forward line is 3rd in efficiency this year
They would want to start bringing in some good KP talent, but for the right now, if they land the names they are linked to. They will be contending next year

Who they kicking it to though? Wylie Buzza and Aaron Black??
Hawkins? taylor? motlop, menzel, ablett or danger resting forward cockatoo resting forward.

They have plenty of options to score and as Eth said, they aren't exactly struggling this year.

Nah - Comparatively Taranto has shown lots more than Hopper - Setterfield missed nearly half a year with injury.
Agree with this. Setterfield looked really good in the few games he's played too. Very clean & good in the air.. You could even say Heppel like.
Spewing he re-signed.

I've been largely unimpressed with Hopper aside from his debut game however he hasn't really had a chance to have a real crack at his main position in the midfield.

Next year though, looks like they won't have Menzel and Motlop, Hawkins will further decline, no Lonergan so Harry Taylor may have to go back again?? Who knows??
Hawkins is still a gun, Buzza looks like he'll be a decent second tall. They land someone like Levi Casboult and who knows?

Seeing that he has come straight in after injury and gone straight into the guts shows you how much they rate him. Not many guys get to do that in their 2nd year even Parish struggles to get a lot of time in there and he is competing with a lesser midfield group.

Can report that Essendon are going to have to up their offer significantly to hold Conor McKenna.
Has two significant offers in front of him from Brisbane and Kangaroos.
Apparently McKenna wants his money and there is a large gap between manager and club.
Conor has been rookie listed the last couple of years and quite rightly wants to see the coin.
He is one we will need to retain.

We absolutely need to retain McKenna. Lift that offer. I

There are some players that you can afford to let go if they happen to get some big offers but guys with his athleticism that can kick the ball like he does are rare and we certainly don't have enough of them.

Don't like how we leave our good players unsigned for long periods it's almost like an invitation for rival clubs.
It's been hard to avoid with the saga forcing our hand in more than a few cases.

Though surely we have a fat wallet with so many senior players coming to the end.

Not what I've heard. Not much in the $ but a bit less security. Dons have a 2 year deal on the table, Conor is looking for 3.

Zaharakis deal will be announced before long which should see him finish his career at Essendon.

Been at the club since the end of '14 right? Same crop as Langford and Laverde, so three years so far. Still a ways off free agency. A shorter deal would mean getting a bigger deal sooner, because whatever is after this (if not now) will surely be massive.

Would be very disappointing but one can only hope that Dodoro has been side tracked with external players to manage internal players affairs.

We have struggled to announce re - signings all year.

As one of very select few with leg speed, it would be very disappointing if he were to depart seeking money. It's not the be all and end all.

Have spent some time off BigFooty and had time to think that perhaps our inside midfield stocks are not as poor as required. What we do lack is that run from defence (no, am not advocating a Jake Lever deal). If the reports that Connor McKenna wants to depart, we are very shallow in this area. The end goal is to have Andy McGrath move up the ground, Gleeson is only ok by foot and that is about all in the senior side at the moment (bar the man in question - Connor McKenna).

Not suggesting we move heaven and earth to get in another half back flanker with elite speed/skills but it is certainly an area of concern for me. With so much thinking time, the man to go after should be D_P_S's man, Hunter Clark (Dandenong Stingrays). If he could come on sooner rather than later and be an AFL player by year 1 - 2, it would allow us more time to draft/develop guys to replace he when he should eventually move further up the ground.

Obviously we have other pressing needs but the more you look at the evidence, the more it makes sense for us to take Hunter Clark.
