I kinda like it when he drafts footballers too though. Its prob not his style and sure he knows a lot more than me but with our list the way it is I prefer he play it safe and go for a parker over a steinberg so to speak.
I think the club has reined him in with regards to "project players" and especially project talls in the National Draft at any rate, they seem to have realised that very few of them actually came good.

Looking back at the 2010 draft though, it'd probably be fair to say that it wasn't a particular great draft for anyone. The only player still on our list from that years crop is Heppell all of the others were later delisted with the exception of Jenkins who we traded (not including Howlett because he was a promoted rookie and might not be at the club for much longer).

He's done a lot better in recent years since the sanctions, though that may be because he's been forced to actually pay attention and has coaches telling him what they want. Hopefully we can get our list back into balance, otherwise we'll end up like Carlton/Collingwood, etc. and having huge holes in the list right when we should be contending (for example Draper is the only ruckman we have under 25 and we don't currently have someone developing who can come in over the next 3 years or so and replace Hooker as that power forward).

He struggles to land free agents. I am not sure this is a strength. I think he has overseen a couple of decent drafts though he may rue not selecting Charlie Curnow.
Just want to point out, I wanted Francis and Curnow as my preferred combo in 2015. Not that I'm unhappy with Parish of course, just thought that between them Francis and Curnow have the biggest upsides from that draft.

Funny I chose the same two in the BF PSD.

I also wanted those two. Glad we got Parish though.

Curnow refusing a breath test while driving at 3:30am a week before the draft probably put a few clubs off.

No he is not
How many finals in the last decade and a half?
because everyone loves trivia:

It depends whether your decade and a half includes the at least one final we play this year, which would make it 2003-2017, if you don't it's 2002-2016. I've also included 1 final in 2013 because we did qualify and you can't pin not playing one on the recruiting staff. So to answer your question:
2002-2016 = 10 finals
2003-2017 = 9 finals, more if we win Saturday week
