I just don't see a way we get Stringer without giving up Pick 11. I'd be comfortable seeing

Out: Pick 11
In: Jake Stringer + Bulldogs 2nd rd pick
Agree

Bulldogs have openly said Pick 20 is considerably low ball offer.

Not sure how we keep pick 11 unless we are giving up a decent player?

What's his disposal in traffic like?
the dogs midfield game isn't anything pretty. tackle and knock the ball on. eventually get it out to a free player. Stringer was normally that free player.
His ability to breakaway from a stoppage and kick a goal is Dangerfield like.
I don't think he has the inside bull capabilities.

Would see our midfield as
TBC Heppell Merrett
Stringer McGrath Parish

Zaka, Langford, Laverde on bench
Begley @ HFF rotating through.

Not important
If he wants to come to us then I say we bend them over
Tell me how that works out well for anyone again? This industry is too small for that school yard shit.
Simply put clubs have long memories. See Port trying to offload Hamish Hartlett last year.

Stringer & their second rounder in exchange for pick 11 would be the absolute best outcome for us however I think Stringer & their 3rd rounder would be most likely.

Not a bad idea, but Long is worth 0 - especially to GWS. The only guys they might be interested in would be guys we wouldn't want to lose.
their backline is quite settled
Still have Kennedy to come back and Cumming is a good running defender. Plus Whitfield could go back to his HBF role too.

They need pressure forwards.
Green may be someone they'd look at. And Green is going to struggle for a spot with Begley coming in. even more so if we land Stringer.

Or if it's just optics - stringer and crameri for 11.
Isn't Crameri out of contract? If so they will get compo for him if he signs with another club. So we would include Stringer plus a draft pick and could sign Crameri for nothing. Don't think we need him anyway

I doubt Crameri's deal would be large enough to trigger a compo pick

mmm I like Colyer's potential but boy he fits the mould of steak knives at the moment.
Shipping off Colyer as steak knives in any sort of deal is part of my dream offseason. I don't think he's a complete spud or anything I just think he is surplus to needs, not in our future plans (or shouldn't be) but could be of value to someone. I think a GWS would be a good fit

Your mate McClure is now saying 50/50.

The wheels are turning in our favour.

https://www.sen.com.au/news/2017/09/26/stringer-chase-down-to-two/

"He has met with two other Victorian clubs – Hawthorn and Richmond, but the race is down to two and it’s a 50/50 race,” McClure said on SEN Breakfast.

“There is no official offer on the table from Geelong or Essendon, but my understanding is by the end of this week, as the Grand Final ball is bounced on Saturday afternoon Jake Stringer will have nominated a club of choice, and it will either be Geelong or Essendon.

“I’m not sure it will be public knowledge but Jake Stringer will tell his management which club he wants to go to.”

Essendon has Pick 11 in the 2017 National Draft, however it would like to keep that selection. Geelong has pick 20, though the Bulldogs feel he is worth considerably more."
Goes from "he'll be be at Geelong" to now it's "50/50"

lols.
