Stringer has got me right down the middle. On the one had I think it's a less than perfect fit but on the other his quality is obvious and given our previous predicament it'd have to be awful difficult for us as a club to say 'thanks but no thanks' to a player that wants in and is most certainly a 'big fish'. Yes he's not a midfielder, but unless Dodoro is a closet Warlock we're not landing a midfielder of equivalent caliber this off season anyway so I'm all in.

The more I think about it the more it excites me, we're quite obviously short on mids and good kicks, but if you were to add him you could potentially focus more on developing Begley and Laverde as mids and running Fantasia and Walla up around the wings and flanks because they're such good ball users. And that's not even accounting for Stringer potentially wanting to work on his midfield game either, that's a bit of a wildcard.

Pretty sure he played predominantly as a mid in his junior days before he broke his leg, so he'd certainly know what he's doing when he goes in there.

it's not every day you get a former top 5 pick, already AA and proven elite player nominate you
If he nominates, we should consider ourselves lucky.

Richmond sorted their midfield pressure up over one offseason and barely changed their personnel (added Prestia).
Heppell, Merrett, McGrath, Zaka, Parish is a pretty decent midfield.
Supported by Begley, Langford, Laverde, etc.

Sounding a lot like Stringer is happening. Happy to do it straight for pick 11.

Doesn’t really fill a structural need but is a top end talent and the odds of getting something better with pick 11 are small....and he makes our forward line ******* lethal.
If you add Stringer to our forward line (and he's used to taking the number one defender) it now means clubs will have to choose between Daniher and Stringer (with Hooker as well) to try and defend. One will absolutely get off the chain.

His value is so debatable right now it's going to be a shit show.

On one hand he is being marched out of a club, the other he when firing is every bit worth Pick 11 and more.

How bad do WB want him out? How badly do they want to fight his value.

I don't see how we get him for anything less then Pick 11. generally in these scenarios the club gets a sniff of it and they will be relentless to grab our first pick. Just like we demanded when Carlisle left.

Ideally it's a 11 for Stringer and 2nd round, but again if he doesn't get to Essendon is he delisted? He is contracted but he may of breached contract for his conduct etc?

Don't sugar coat it, they added Prestia, Caddy, Nankervis and Martin went from a top 20 player to a top 2 player.

Our midfield is a dumpsterfire, but as I said, we're not missing out on anyone because we're moving on Stringer so let's get him while we can.
