I posted a few weeks ago I would be willing to take a flier on him if didn't cost too much. He was an absolute gun before the injuries and toxic Gold Coast club culture got a hold of him.

Chronically misused at the Suns as a key defender at afl level. Would be great on a wing or halfback I reckon, but only if he costs us little via trade.
If the Suns ask for anything more than a James Stewart-Esque 5th Rounder like deal then no thanks

Why is everyone so keen on him?
Barely played for the doggies with all their injuries, how good can he be
Anyone who has watched his VFL form like the way he goes about it and he has looked fine when called up to play Seniors. Not sure if it's attitude or something else keeping him out

Averaged 25 disposals a game last year in the VFL (including being BOG against Collingwood in the prelim) and averaging 26 this year. Has had 2 games under 20 disposals the past two years. For me he's close to the favourite for the Liston

For an inside mid too, he's got a particularly good kick on him. Well worth keeping an eye on considering at this stage he wouldn't cost too much.

Sounds like he might just be no good:
He struggles to get the ball at AFL, lacks a bit when it comes to the defensive side of his game. Hasn't had the most opportunities though, so make of that what you will.

I will add that one of the two he pinged a hammy halfway through the second quarter against us with 9 possessions at that point.

He's a bull for a mid and he was drafted as a forward got me ****** why he's only played 2 games this year, Bevo must hate him. He's an AFL player shouldn't be running around in the 2s. Will be this years "Marley Williams" if we pick him up for what he'll cost, as some campaigner mentioned earlier . Gun

Sounds like he might just be no good:
He played really solid in his first couple of games, it could be possible that the coaches have high expectations for him. He has been dropped a few times after a single bad game where others have stayed in despite a few bad weeks.

He also gets thrown around in all different positions, I've been confused about his development honestly.

I'm gonna stop you right there eth-dog. I've had a good day today

But we're better than those teams. Maybe not Melbourne. And..now stop.
We're better than the team in second place? Melbourne are better too. And also need a third tall who can kick the ball. St. Kilda is very similar to us. Also need a 3rd tall defender. We don't need another tall defender.

Melbourne the only standout there, presuming he wants to move back to Victoria. St Kilda aren't anything special.
St. Kilda are very similar to us. Melbourne would be the most likely. I just don't see why Lever would be on our radar or why he'd choose us.

Haven't really replaced Carlisles intercepting yet. If Levers gettable id want to be looking at him

Which KPD?
Martin Gleeson and Michael Hurley have been great at cutting off opposition attacks. Lever won't come to Essendon, he's simply surplus to requirements

Marty Gleeson is not 195cm and no Jake Lever.. a player that size, athletic, and uses the ball so well off half back. I'd take that over a Johannisen with McKenna coming along. Marty Gleeson...

Marty is the same size as Elliott Yeo. Lever is simply a player we'd have to pay a premium for that is basically surplus to requirements
