Can't see Brisbane agreeing to that. Might use Port's first rounder and something else.

Parish to me is still in the untouchable basket unless we can't convince him to stay.
hypothetical
id be shattered to see Parish leave. reckon he is the x-factor midfielder for us. if we lose him, i'd be going hard for kelly to replace his role.

Agree. The last player we'd be chasing.
Possibly goes with the fact a lot of people was us to daft a forward so we can have Chooker back. Also heaps of talk about missing Ambrose. I'd say we're not as good for "quality" KPD as we could be. We would be set if we got another forward. But, It wouldn't hurt to have Hurley, Lever and Ambrose.

More chance of Mathieson coming to us then Parish going there.
Would be an interesting discussion. Wouldn't mind him as he is a younger clearance/CP type player, which we all agree we need more of.
wouldn't cost nearly as much as Martin/Fyfe and even hopper

Would our second get it done?
Averaged around 22 touches this year and Brisbane may not want to let him go depending on what happens with rockliff

Watching bits and Pieces of the Bris-GWS game on the weekend he was actually pretty impressive. After Beams went down he really stood up, ended up with a high-20s possession count I believe.

EDIT: It was actually 32 touches and 6 tackles

Dogs would be all over Lever surely.
Dogs, Hawks, Pies, Tigers, North, Dees.
All of them really. We should be too given his talent.
Hurley & Lever would be our number first choice defenders. Both intercept/attacking guns.
Pick one of Hartley or Ambrose as the one on one.
McKenna & McGrath as the smalls who run off HBF.
Gleeson & Ridley battle for the last spot.
And then you have depth in, say, Ambrose & Gleeson. As opposed to Brown and Dea.

I was a little baffled we didn't go for him & Balic in the second rd. vs Morgan and Redman (both of which i hadn't heard of, so felt like reaches).
Parish, Francis, Balic, Mathieson, Brown, Hartley, Tippa. Would have been our best draft imo.
I watched a lot of the carnival that year and Mathieson and Balic looked ready to go. A lot like SPP last year. Not flashy, but they weren't going to be speculative. Had the bodies and mindset to play the tougher side of AFL.

I don't think any ideas involving trading one of our most talented young midfielders in Parish makes any real sense. We need to bolster our midfield depth and he's talented on both the inside and outside. I can't see any reason why we would want to trade him.

I just want to see us go after a young inside midfielder using draft picks. Hopper would be perfect. Our midfield is honestly not that bad. If we retain and develop our young talented and can maybe pick up one top talent then I reckon we will end up quite good. I've got high hopes for McGrath and Parish in the future. Laverde and Langford should end up as pretty decent versatile types but I don't see them on that same level. Zerrett is already a star. I think Heppell has another level in him but we might not see it til next year.

He and Balic wouldn't have been in contention for that Morgan pick. Bonner is the one we missed out on that pisses me off.
I think they would have been
Redman/Morgan went @ 28/29. Balic and Mathieson - 38/39.
Not too far apart.

Once Francis and Parish were landed, i had hopes for 2 of Balic, Mathieson, Bonner, Tucker or Clarke.

I'm speaking specifically on type. We were never going to pick 2 of Redman/Balic/Mathieson/Clarke. It was always going to be one of those players and one of Bonner/Tucker/Morgan

I was really keen on Hibberd. Haven't watched any North games this year so not sure that we missed out.

Ah. got ya.

i don't recall reading much on Redman & Morgan.
I do recall some ? on Mathieson having a bit of a rep (though its serving him well in his approach) and Bonner being a go home risk.
Tucker we missed, but Balic was probably the biggest surprise. for me anyway

Even if Hooker stays forward, we still have Hartley, Brown, Francis and Ridley.
That's a big **** no from me.

My wife knows a close family member of Bonner and he is a massive Bombers fan and was gutted when we didn't pick him. Prior to getting drafted by Port, he couldn't stand them.

In short, very unlikely flight risk.

i was better off not knowing that.
:(
Considering Bonner is out of contract and can't break into the Port Adelaide senior side at the moment if the club really wanted him they would be trying to get him.
