I assume you mean Pittard?

For me it depends who the mature aged guy is. If it's someone between 21 and 25 and couldn't develop in the AFL for their old side for whatever reason, I'd go after them. I also wouldn't mind getting someone in that age bracket that's a ruckman, whether that be Oliver Eastland, Daniel Fahey-Sparks or whomever.

Yeah, stupid auto correct, Pittard*

I’m ok with going into 2021 with Draper, Phillips and Bryan as rucks on the list.

We have two SPP positions available (Moz to the ‘inactive’ makes it three rookie selections available, correct?) a midfielder and a half back for me please.

I'm thinking about 2022. We had the right idea with Crauford (despite whatever reason he decided to go home), knowing that Bellchambers was likely to retire and Phillips won't have much longer left either, get someone in to fast track their development.

We are extremely shallow for senior depth at the medium defender spot.

Duval is AFL ready, Dumesny is a project.
We're actually not and we're not challenging soon, hence my Dumesny preference

Harlequin Dream can confirm but I thought Duval was more Luke Brown than Jake Lloyd.

Being 23 it’s not like he’s an untried kid, that scope of improvement has come without true elite pathways which suggests there is more left.

I agree that we need to have upside in mind given our list position but you need to be prepared to fail fast with these 1 year contracts. Picking players that are 20 to 24 gives a good balance between these aims.

The obvious 2 are Duval and Mansell, however there are others I would look at:

Aemon Wilkinson is a 20 year old small forward who kicked 25.19 over 16 games for South Adelaide. Good, tough goalsneak. I would prefer him to be more of a dead-eye but he is likely to be the best small forward in the SANFL with Rowe gone.

Will Combe is the other one. Was a very good half forward in 2020. Good tough role-player who won the SANFL breakthrough award last year.

We do need a good small forward with out Fanta/Townsend/Mozzie

Duval would be my preferred option.

If we are looking for upside then Brodie Lake (NT) would be my pick. Good pace and competitive half back/wing with some disposal queries.

Not anywhere near Dylan Clarke level issues, but has a tendency to rush kicks or not steady on the run. Fixable though.

If Carlton's VFL list has Crocker, Wooller, Phillips, North, Stoddart, Parsons and Reynolds they're going to be very strong next year.
Has the paper bag era returned at the Blues ? :p

Little bit more of him
