Luke Parker would make the most sense...

Sydney lost COLA and still have Buddy and Tippett taking about 2 mil a year of cap space.

That said they have lost a number of players already (including retirements) so their cap may not be that tight. Again though, if Parker wants market value he is easily worth 800k for 5 years (prob more) and there is no way Sydney can afford that.

If we got Parker for 12, Astbury and 52 wowee but I'm also happy to chuck in 19.

.... Guess we'll know soon enough.

Downgrading from 12 to 20 and 19 -21 for yarran is a terrible outcome .
And here is why :
1. I know you have been crowing in about it for a while now and your belief is that it's only 8 places in a weak draft . Well I don't believe in this weak draft bs and the combine results suggest likewise . Every year we here a draft is super draft or weak draft , IMO it's a croc of crap and has never been proven correct . Some drafts do produce more top end talent but rarely are these drafts the ones that are tipped as super drafts or vice versa with so called weak drafts .
2. Downgrading 8 places is like taking away the advantage of finishing 9th , rather than being premiers .
3. Smart recruiters only ever use first round picks on pure mids who can play inside and out or KPP's , Yarran does not fit either of these criteria and this is why many don't rate FJ and a major reason why we have little midfield depth , especially inside .
4. Trading away or downgrading first round picks is trading away your future to maintain your current position . We are not the reigning premiers and need to improve not maintain .
5. Houli is a far greater citizen , is more reliable , consistent and arguable on par with Yarran in natural ability.
We gave up a pre season draft pick for Houli .
6. If Yarran does join the club it is likely he will spend less than the average AFL footballers career at RFC .

Yarran is a massive risk and should be considered as such , I personally still doubt he is worth 19.

How can you argue houli has the same natural talent as Yarran.

Yes he's a better bloke and a more consistent player, but in no way is he close to yarrans natural ability. Yarran speed and disposal is elite.

If you put him in a team where he isn't relied on to do anything, he will change games. We need him to do too much at Carlton and he's shirked the responsibility.

The AFL website mentioned that Hawthorn may get involved, giving Richmond picks 15 and 18 and getting picks 12 and 19 in return. Richmond could give them either one of the pick. I don't think pick 18 will do it, so pick 15 perhaps may

I highly doubt Richmond will be getting anyone else other than Yarran, so let's just forget about it. According to the trading rules, Richmond cannot give out any more 2016 picks as they used 2016's second rounder and this year's second rounder to upgrade to pick 19. They would not have done that had any high-profile player been on our radar. Clearly, Yarran is the main target and that's about it as it seems

Being a whole lot better than you lot , doesn't mean he won't be relied upon when playing other sides .
It actually says more about your lot .;)

Fwiw I agree , when relied upon he goes missing which is exactly my point .

19 will do it.
We would be so stupid to do that trade!!
15 is only 4 picks better.
GTFO Carlton or take 19.

Maybe it makes a big difference to them as this draft is known to be shallow. Pick 19 should normally do, but they seem like they'll let the deadline pass before accepting pick 19

Having a read of the St Kilda board is funny. They think Carlisle will lead them to their second (lol) flag in the next few years.

Yet here we sit, with a much much much better list than theirs, and we're all doomsday scenarios because we haven't picked up an A grader.

Whose situation would you rather? I know which one I'd pick.

Appreciate your views. And he will definitely add something we need, but he isnt worth pick 12. Some people keep saying 'his form in 2012 was outstanding'. Great. We are recruiting for the 2016 season now. Its like us wanting Judd now because his Brownlow years were amazing.....
Pick 19 will do it today.

If we had of got 17 for Astbury Carlton said they would not of taken that. 18 won't do anything.
We don't budge on 19.
