I would take that in a heartbeat but the giants do not have the same stockpile of talent they once did. I don't reckon they would do that at all.
Pick 4 and 28 for Will Setterfield, Pick 10 and pick 46 would probably be closer. I think Caldwell would have to be in the mix with the other two blokes.
Great suggestion.

How about Michael Hurley to Collingwood for first round pick?
The club has approximately 1.6 million invested in two key position defenders. Too much.
This would get us a midfielder or a young tall- Ben King and free up significant salary cap for a rory sloane or ollie wines.
They can give us Degoey in a straight swap

Okay, this may sound crazy (haven't really read the past few pages) but what about trading Hooker to a Geelong or Richmond? If Richmond fail to get Lynch, Hooker would be a perfect fit in their forward line for 3 years. Geelong, it may be a pipe dream, but I would absolutely do a swap of him for Mitch Duncan. Experienced, big bodied, A grade midfielder who is still only 26.

Don't think it'd happen, if he did leave surely it'd only be to go home to WA?

No chance. If im geelong there is no way i am making that deal. Hooker is 30 next year and really geelong cant afford to have too immobile gorilla forwards (Hawkins) and they seem to be backing in ratogulea.

Plus in defence Stewart, Taylor, Kolodjashnij etc are a good combo at the moment. And for Geelong to give up a gun mid in his prime for a 30yo KPP who isnt that necessary looking at their current stocks would be terrible list management.

Would throw Hurley, Heppell and Zaharakis up as bait before even considering trading Hooker. The bloke should be captain of this football club.

I think I'd rather trade him to a flag contender, and whilst WC might be that, they're not exactly without great KPP's at both ends in Gov, Barrass, Schofield, Darling, Kennedy, Nic Nat and Lycett

They would play him as a key defender, which they're desperate for considering Taylor and Henderson are struggling to stay on the park, Stewart's best position is playing similar to Gleeson. As I said, pipe dream stuff maybe.

Would absolutely trade Zaka for a big bodied mid if available but feel Hooker holds more value.

Heppell, Hurley, Hooker - all wronged by the club. I cannot see us trading them after we a) likely paid them good contracts to come back and b) put them through god knows what.
And, after what is a 7 week slump that isn't just affecting them.

Club opted to back in Langford, Clarke and Laverde for the job when it came to drafting and trading in 2017.
Time to follow that through and have all 3 play the remainder of the season. (and don't drop them if Geelong, GWS and Richmond smash them over the next 3 weeks).

Of course you'd do a straight swap of Hooker for Duncan. Unfortunately Geelong wouldn't even pick-up the phone.

Maybe we could trade Hooker for Bontempelli or Clayton Oliver? Really aim high.

Hooker has been a great player and remains a very useful player at both ends of the ground. But at almost 30 years of age his trade value is effectively nothing.

Not nothing. But certainly not a straight swap for duncan.
Think it would more likely be a brian Lake level of value. Similar players and age when lake went to hawks.

That being said i wouldnt trade him. Our backline looks far more assured with him there.

Hooker would be the last player we should even consider trading. He survived two attempts from the club to offload him before he became good and then went through the whole saga just to be the first of the banned players to resign. Talk about loyalty.

Trading him would be killing off whatever little heart and soul we have left at the club. Oh yeah and he's still one of our best players at either end of the ground.

Could even be a good fit for Captaincy if we replace Hepp.

Just read on the AFL site that Mason Fletcher is possibly out for the season with a back injury. Always convenient how father son recruits get such bad injuries in their draft year....only worth a rookie now.

I'd offer Tim Kelly 600k+, Cats would struggle to pay him that, Has a young family will think about it.
Tim Kelly's manager has already made it clear that if he ever leaves Geelong it will be to go home - he has newborn twins and a two year old son and he and his partner are both from WA.

Can you pay him 600 plus though, Money talks.

All hypothetical obviously, But clubs will test the waters.

What's happend to him isn't games because you are stacked for inside mids or he's not very good?
Brayshaw has gone past him and Petraccas short bursts even when out of form are still better than what Tyson brings. With Viney back this week I actually think he'll be dropped. Would happily ship him off for a late 2nd.
