Coach will be sacked before they trade Steven surely.

I am trying to respond in meaningless platitudes with his accent/voice. What is it with half educated outer suburbs types rising up the ranks of trades, police/military or sport. The out of control ego that they struggle to mask with fake humility is so grating when you combine it with the lack of command of the language, plus the limited and overly consequentialist view of the world.

Well we should make sure he commits to us while they’re still in the habit of making horrible decisions. Like Richmond did with Bachar Houli... by the time the new coach came in for us the damage was already done.

Just thinking aloud here:

Freo's pick 5 and 77 swap for our 8 and 62.
Saint's pick 3 and 75 swap with our pick 8 and 30.
Makes us closer to getting Shiel (in GWS' eyes at least).
Recon they would go for it?
When you get to pick 62, the recruiters are looking at a specific player or 2 that they've targeted from a pool of 50+ similarly ranked/flawed players. Most clubs will have someone different in mind, so if they're available at 62, they're probably there at 77. Freo don't care about that upgrade... you're essentially suggesting a straight swap 5 for 8.
Offering Saints 30 is slightly better in that it is actually something of use to them, but not even close to what would satisfy them moving from 3 to 8.

Laverde article indicates that he and McKernan and Stewart are likely to get two years a piece but the language on Brown, Green, Dea and Long is far less certain.

Hartley seems to fall somewhere in between the two camps.

Bit surprised about Brown

Billings did ok when he was pushed further up the ground. Against us he and Acres(?) played really well first quarter in the mid then that genius Richo moved them up forward and were no longer effective.

I’d take Billings over Steven who’s disposal at times lets him down.

interesting if true on Brown not getting a deal
Would be disappointed if true. His KM’s travelled in games was off the charts. Add to that his effectiveness as a goal kicker and it would be silly to move him on.

One year deal but one none the less imho
