Trade Hoops

I honestly don't know how people are even considering one of the most experienced and talented players at the Carlton Football Club be traded or even delisted its beyond me.

Hoops would be a walk up start in our 22, backline, forward line, middle, wing you name it, he's a good player, don't get me wrong. To even have a thread like this while he's injured is OUTRAGEOUS. At least let him get back from injury, purely unfair on the bloke.

Hoops is one of the best kids in the league. Why would you try trade a bloke who can hit a forward on the chest from 40 metres away.

Sometimes I feel some people haven't watched a game of Carlton for the past 5 years. He's got a football brain and will be a needed player for us if we are wanting finals next year.

Absolutely agree. The suggestions by some of the posters on this forum is laughable. Hoops is a good player full stop. Will be a Blue for his whole career.

I think hoops still has abit to offer. The only thing i still worry about is his courage . but iv got the feeling that in a well drilled and firing team he could actually be valuable, so i sorta agree with most people... who knows maybe some of the blues new found courage would rub off on him.. Hell im sure hes been watching the games and seeing grommets like browne throwing himself at the contest.......​

He should be played as a forward pocket/flank and left to crumb goals. He's got a great kick and does get in the right spots too. I cant understand why Pagan had it in his mind that any good small forward should be turned into a half back flank(Houlihan and Lappin).

I still think he is the best crumbing player on our list and I'd pick him over Betts if there is only room for one.

There is alot of talk of him being soft but he isnt as bad as some people here seem to make out either.

I cant wait to see him floating around the packs and when Fev can't grab it Hoops mops up and goals.

Top post. I don't think people quite understand the type of damage this bloke can cause up forward if given the chance. We need a goalsneak Medhurst type. We also need the return of the chainsaw powered by BP Hoops.

What he said. Craig Bradley wasn't exactly known for his hard ball gets either, but he could play a bit.

Hoops is a receiver with superb delivery/disposal. Exactly what we need to play finals.

Dissing Hoops for not going in and under is a bit like having a go at Eddie Betts for his poor ruckwork.

I'm excited....He deserves to be in this team, has stuck fat through all the sh1t and he is deadly around goal, so polished stuff let's play him against the saints!!

kicking goals is good, roving off fev is better, but if you don't chase, harass and tackle, you're in the seconds.

Excellent Point, my thoughts entirely, while he has a class edge on guys like Wiggins, Russell and Edwards the most important component of this forward line position is to do the things that will make our team better, which you have mentioned.And the others certainly do those things!
